Ordered online at the Highway 81 location on Saturday 3/27. Arrived to restaurant to pick up and was missing an entire meal. They said they wrote it down wrong. Didn't apologize for the inconvenience or anything. We had almost decided to wait, but 10-15 minutes more was too long. I'm glad we didn't wait. That chicken philly waz HORRIBLE! It was completely bland and chicken was like rocks.The wings were good, just small.The young kid working the drive-thru was sweet. May give it another try sometime.
Catfish is fresh and delicious, and the best coleslaw. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five I wish there were more healthier side options.
Lemon pepper fried Gizzards and Livers tossed or not tossed in your choice of sauce are delicious. The fish can be lemon pepper flavored, collared greens and corn nuggets are a hit and all still good as left overs. Hands down everything is good not great but good. They used to be named Cotton Picken Chicken.
I really love these wings. It's the buffalo sauce I'm addicted to. So awesome!!
Today I experienced unpleasant customer service here. I eat at this location at least 3x outer a week. I followered them from Walt Stephens location to this one. Yes many many years of being a customer. Since the pandemic I start ordering my food over the phone and picking it up through the drive-thru. Today I called and did my usual.. got to the drive thru, paid and received my order. I pulled up and checked my order and my fries was burnt and cold. My wings was dry and not wet as I asked. I decided to park my car and walk in to discuss the matter. Yes they corrected my order but as doing so, I discovered anyone wearing any gloves or masks. The young lady that was taking orders & money went straight to the back. Pick up an order..opened it and touched the fries with the same hands she used to take money and touch the cash register with. Not once did she wash her hands or use and kind of hand sanitizer. The young lady who was back making the wings was playing on her phone the whole time. She then proceeded to touch the wings and the utensil for the wings without washing her hands or putting on gloves. The young lady that cooks the fries kept touching her hair & playing in her face while touching ppl orders to put fries inside.
What’s wrong?I’ve been a dedicated customer from day one, but tonight was ridiculous!!Anyone that cooks can tell when chicken or fries have been re-dropped in the cooking oil...The first tell tell sign is greasy chicken or fries, the second is chicken like rocks and limp fries...When I got home I called the restaurant and spoke with a manager named Katie,I told her that this was the first time that I’ve ever received greasy, rockhard and cold chicken from River and Roost, she informed me that they pre-cook all their chicken then re-drop the chicken to order..Wow! Really?I told her that I tossed the chicken out and that I drove a distance just for chicken at that restaurant...She then offered to replace the chicken on my next visit...Thanks, but, no thanks!I’m done?I was there at 9:50, they close at 10:00 on a Saturday night..I wish I could do a video of the chicken so people could hear how the chicken snaps like cracklings because it’s so dry...I feel that they were trying to get rid of the old chicken they hadn’t sold..????I hate it when I waste my precious time and money on garbage..
The staff has always been super nice but I have gotten wings from this place for the 3rd time know and half to say they aren’t the best ! I have gotten cold wings, not fully cooked etc. i tried the chicken philly and it didn’t even taste normal. I would not recommend this place the chicken doesn’t have any flavor and made me sick.
The people here is why they get a two. The service is great but the wings are disappointing. They are tiny and over cooked. The wings are way to small to enjoy.
I'm so in love with the cat fish that I'm there at least twice a week if not more. Great staff and owner. Prices are not to high and they have lunch specials.
So the sticky fries....It's mostly fries with the equivalent of 1 chicken tender on it. I was so disappointed with the amount of money I paid for it and ordered 2 extra strips to be put on to have hardly any chicken. And then they didn't listen to my request to toss the tenders and not the fries. And no one was overly rude but I sure didn't feel like a valued customer. I won't be back. Not great
