Serious BBQ dude here (love in TX and go to KC a lot): meat was dry like sauce dust, just horrible. Sides were good. Restaurant had no ice. I would never recommend this place, old/dry meat should not be served. They also didn't have cheese, for the SPECIAL OF THE DAY. HOW DO YOU HAVE A SPECIAL WITHOUT IT'S INGREDIENTS? Pretty Miss Jewell wouldn't be happy with her name on this mess
Worse bbq I’ve ever had. Everything was super bland even the dessert. Ribs had a little flavor but were dry. Baked beans were bad. Collard greens were nasty. Chicken was bland. Publix makes better banana pudding and the peach cobbler was horrible. Maybe it was a bad night but I’m not chancing that again.
Stopped at Willie Jewell's and ordered a whole chicken to pair with sides I'd prepared at home. Paid $15, but it was worth it! Seasoned well, tender, with good smokey flavor!
Picked up some pulled pork after seeing some pretty solid reviews for this place! Overall, the food was fine but in my opinion not the best flavor compared to other BBQ places that I’ve been to. The pork was cooked well and was tender, but lacked flavor. It truly tasted like it hadn’t been seasoned at all. Also, I tried a few of their sauces and I found them extremely bland as well. I’m glad I had some sweet baby rays at home to use instead. In the future if I had a choice, I’d choose another BBQ restaurant because this food was pretty average.
Great ribs and friendly service. Could be a 5 star BBQ place but I have to go back a couple more times to be sure. :)Update; I'm changing my rating to five stars after going back again and the barbecue was better than the first time. Five stars for certain.
I had a 3 meat platter. Ribs, brisket, sausage. With sides of coleslaw. The brisket and sausage was ok. They gave me two ribes that seemed to be under heat for a while till it was tough and I couldn't really enjoy if even after putting sauce on it.
Good Barbecue Restaurant! It remembers me a little bit of Shane’s (if a comparison helps). We were passing though the area in March and wanted to try something new. This didn’t disappoint! We brought the family back again the next time we were passing through again.
I've had borderline BBQ before but this is just bad. Brisket reminded me of dry pot roast and the pork was luke warm. They had good sweet tea. Update for the question below, transaction posted the 7th total was $40.48. Two young men were working you can ask the cook (guy with the tattoos) he may remember solely because we were the only people in there and the face I made when I tried the brisket. When I turned he was looking straight at me and he even made a face. You should be able to email me from my profile icon.
Good quick bbq with good sized portions. I don’t love their sauces but if you get it to go then that’s not a problem.
This was some good old fashion bbq and sides. Me and friend came across this Jewell, while visiting Marietta Ga. The staff and management was very friendly and offered recommendations on the selection of bbq dishes. I will definitely be coming back.Thank you Willie Jewell staff,
