Fantastic cake - looked amazing and tasted even better (if that was possible). We got classic vanilla and buttercream. I will definitely be using them for all cakes going forward!!
Amazing my sister absolutely loved her custom birthday cake! I really appreciate you guys getting it done it was a hassle getting someone to do it since it’s during graduation dates but you guys made it possible !!
The cake had the picture that we wanted and the girl at the store was super nice. But the cake was so dry, it was hard to enjoy. Its kinda embarrassing when you serve a cake at a party that you have to wash down with a drink to swallow. This was my first time using them, and unfortunately, my last.
We ordered this cake for my son's 13th birthday party. The outside presentation was amazing and my son loved it. Too bad the same can't be said for the cake itself. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement.The cake was dry as the desert!! I've had better quality cakes from my local Walmart. Unfortunately, I didn't do my homework before going with this bakery. If I had, I would have found the numerous other reviews from dissatisfied customers. Oh well, I guess you live and learn. Needless to say, I wouldn't patronize this establishment again, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
I am feel bad that I have to write this review but I am pretty disappointed with this bakery. Firstly let me say this is the second cake we bought this year, both with issues.We purchased a baby shark cake this past weekend (see pictures with captions). I am not happy about the placement of the name … It’s practically behind the cake. Let me further elaborate: I had a lengthy email exchange about where the name was going to go since we had a similar mishap with our son cake either this year. (More on that one later). They first suggested “they can make an artistic choice” to which I declined so I went searching for ideas online. We settled on the block lettering after I had made 2 other suggestions that wouldn’t work. So anyhow, I was already pretty particular about the name.. it seems to me like the bakery didn’t factor it in when making the cake and left no space below so decided to stick it along the back?Also, I had asked for fresh strawberries to be baked in and this was not in there at all. See third pic.For my sons birthday, we asked for a chocolate construction cake the mini dirt road and mini construction vehicles. We offered to buy the mini vehicles but they said they would take care of it. When we got the cake there was one giant constructions vehicle and the obviously the scaling was completely off. They said they had tried to call us but I did not get any email or voicemail.At the end of the day, I feel like there is lack of care in their work. As a mom, I’m putting a lot of effort into these parties to make them special for our kids and they mind as well spelled my kids names wrong…. My husband dealt with them for my sons bday earlier this year so I figured something got lost in translation so I gave it another chance and ordered again .. I had even recommended them to my mom friend. So I’m very disappointed. We have many more years of celebrations and cakes to order so they just lost a future customer.The cake tasted great but the lack of professionalism around the design of the cake is a deal breaker. Every time I called, I was speaking to a diff staff member and I was told there were multiple bakers so who is really managing quality control?
Love love love my cake for my baby shower! The black forest flavor was delicious and everyone loved it! The desgin was wonderful, would definitely order from again.
First off if I could give NO STARS I would have. The service & respect for a paying customer was horrible. The owner of Sugar Benders Bakery was very unprofessional, The cake that I wanted made for my mother’s 50th birthday had a beautiful concept & vision. However Veronica (owner) turned that vision into a nightmare, this situation brought tears to my wife eyes due to her being so upset. Veronica is a horrible unprofessional, uncaring & lacking all basic customer service skills of a business owner. We sent a picture of the cake to my step dad & and he showed it to one of his coworkers, we asked for there honest opinion both said that it was an ugly cake. Furthermore both of my brothers said that it’s was an ugly cake. This place is a fraud, it’s like someone hustling you out of your money on the streets.. DO NOT GO TO SUGAR BENDERS BAKERY.. READ THESE STORIES OF THE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE PEOPLE HAVE HAD BECAUSE I PROMISE YOU THAT THEY ARE TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT Veronica!!!!!!!
Horrible service!!!!! I asked for the first pic with tan teddy bears and this is what they gave me!! Unacceptable, the owner was extremely rude she did not care to listen to what I had to say about the cake when I told her this is not what I asked for she immediately hung up on me and told me to come pick up the cake and she would refund me my money back and will never do business with me again. I would not recommend this place at all!!!!!
I ordered a specialty cake for my daughters birthday party.I was charged $65 for a 6” round with some decoration on the top. Plain flavors with chocolate cake and vanilla frosting.Everyone that had the misfortune of tasting this cake, sadly wanted to spit it out. I’ve never seen a child confused at looking at a cake they don’t like before. He sat there wanting to eat it, but then admitted it was also making him want to throw up!Really disappointed in the quality and presentation. More so that everyone in our party of 20-30 who tasted it found it ghastly. I recommend to avoid this bakery if you can.
Absolutely wonderful experience! I ordered a naked strawberries and cream cake for my fiancé’s birthday and it was both beautiful and delicious. Very affordable and excellent service. I will definitely be back again.
