The stated hours of service are 11 am till closing. We arrived at 11am and the doors weren’t open we called at 11:14 and told them we were outside and they replied that they were making sure everything was ready. We waited until 11:19 and the doors were still not open. We left and enjoyed our lunch at another place that obviously believe in service because they were open!
I almost don't want to review this place because I love it so much. I don't want to secret to be out and not be able to get right in, but I have to be honest... this place has AMAZING food. We've tried the pastas, the pizza, the soup.... it's all awesome. When we come from out of state... this is where we like to go eat. Plus, I love the low key atmosphere and the staff is always just so pleasant, and they genuinely want you to enjoy your visit.
We arranged with Anna to reserve the back room for a party of 30. We had the most amazing service from our two waiters. They were completely invested in all our guests being individually taken care of in every way. Arrangements were made for food choices, drinks, alcohol and overall ambiance. They made very sure the setup was exactly as we wished for our guests. Most importantly, the food was fantastic as usual. Thank you Anna for making our graduation party a great family memory forever.
Good food, good prices, good waiter! We'll be back
Their menu said Sicilian pizza, but the person taking the order didn’t know it was there… that was the first warning. I ordered it and it really is nothing more than a New York style baked on a square pan. No thick crispy crust. Just a thin crust plain pizza but square from the pan. Needless to say I will keep searching for some place that has the real deal. We were disappointed but want to try their Italian food. Just not the pizza.
My husband and I ordered through door dash. We like trying new restaurants and both love Italian. He got the pizza. I got the ravioli parmigiana. The ravioli was supposed to be cheese according to the menu on DoorDash. I am highly allergic to shellfish. Sometimes just the odor in the air of someone cooking it can cause a reaction. Got our food all was good. My husband liked his pizza, I tried a bite and it was good. I sat down for my meal and I first had the roll and dipped in sauce thought this is pretty good. I tried the ravioli and I thought the texture was a bit strange but it was a new place so didn’t think much of it everybody does things differently. After the second half of the first ravioli I noticed a fishy type after taste I thought was strange I couldn’t imagine why it shouldn’t have any ingredients that would have fish in it. I took a drink to clear my mouth and still fishy taste. My throat by this time is kind of sore but I didn’t think anything about it. Thinking my taste buds are off I took another bite and I was sure there was some kind of seafood in my dish. I separated the second ravioli I had a bite out of and the filling didn’t look like ricotta filling. I smelled it and yup fishy smell. I pulled the filling out and put on my plate and it was like really fine shredded chicken kind of flaky with red specks. By this time my chest is tight and I keep clearing my throat because it’s swelling some. I thought to myself it looks like crab meat maybe lobster. I told my husband to try it but he had just taken a bite of pizza so he didn’t taste anything. I told him i swear I think this is crab. So he looked at the menu and saw they do indeed have lobster ravioli. I’m getting my epi pen out to keep beside me because I never liked fish or seafood as a kid so I never really ate it but when my allergist gave me my allergy test it came up I was allergic so I never ate it anyway so I had no idea what actually eating it would do to me if I was going to go into full blown anaphylactic shock. Meanwhile my husband called the restaurant to talk to the manager and explained what happened. Things happen we understand that. What is not acceptable is the fact for an hour and a half I suffered not breathing well at all thought I might have to go to emergency room and this woman, the manager, just tells my husband door dash has to take care of it. Um no! You need to make sure your stuff is labeled right. He literally had to explain twice I’m allergic and having trouble breathing. All she did was take my husbands number she never apologized or tried to make things right. I will never go back to this place. That is so rude to not have any empathy for someone in distress because they messed up. The amount of agony I endured because of there lack of care. If anyone has ever had severe asthma then they know what I mean. It’s painful to try and breath when you can’t and it’s scary. I should have gone to er and sent them the Bill. What if someone had that and they were more allergic than I was. That is bad business. A simple I’m sorry and acknowledgement of mistake goes a long way. Here it is 5am and My throat is still sore and my chest tight. If you’re in the restaurant business you should understand the seriousness of food allergies. I am almost 50 years old and have never had an issue like this before because I am always very cautious what I eat. I never get Cesar salad because most people use anchovy paste. Btw I didn’t eat the salad either wasn’t sure. I can’t eat pesto because it has pine nuts. I’m very aware of what is in things. This wasn’t my fault this was the restaurants. They obviously don’t care about people.Update: I changed from 1 star to 3. My husband spoke to the owner. She was very nice and very apologetic. She informed us she will be handling the situation. Mistakes do happen. I appreciate the apology.
It was my first time eating here. I had the Vegetarian Pizza my hubby had the Meat Lovers Stromboli. We also had the Garlic Cheese bread for an appetizer. It was very good. Our waiter was the only waiter when we got there and he had many tables and was handling it like a pro for sure. I was very pleased with my experience and will be back next week to try out the Lasagna.
Great family restaurant, service was fast. Great customer service. We had a great waiter. Everything we ordered was tasty except the fried calamari which lacked flavor. I would go there again if I am in the area.
Love the Italian-American ambience. Great classic, full Italian menu at reasonable prices. I graduated Catholic high school in central Iowa where we have a very large Italian-American population; a legacy of the pre-WWII coal mining industry. Many of my good friends are Italian-American, including my sister's husband. I know good, home-cooked Italian when it hits my palate and Frankie's has it......
Ordered from here through doordash to try for the first time. I had read some negative reviews about the new management but I’m generally not picky and find any kind of Italian food tasty. This was not the case here. The chicken was rubbery, the sauces were bland, the rolls were stale cafeteria rolls, and the kicker was the garlic butter. I think it was previously frozen because it was mealy and oily and quite literally disgusting. The taste stayed in my mouth and ruined my appetite. The side caesar salads weren’t bad but you can’t really screw those up too much.We paid approx $70 plus tip for 2 meals and an appetizer. There is no reason why they should be charging so much with such low food quality. Definitely not even interested in giving a second chance. It was BAD.
