Great place for brunch! The food was great and it was at a good price. The specialty pancakes were delicious! We had their Oreo pancakes and shared them as a table and it was great for everyone to share since it’s basically dessert! Other than that, coffee was decent and the burrito was great for breakfast. Perfect location right next to the mountain, so you can hike and then eat! Can’t wait to go back and try the other options
It was sad order what you think sausage gravy biscuits and you get something totally different.First for two people same time $29.00 way to much for cold food. Another sad part the server had no personality, when we sat down I had to clean the syrup off the table then the server brings the “food” and could care less if the order is correct. It’s sad the Mountain Biscuit that was there before had good hot food and a lot of personality. Never again and if anybody ask I’ll guide them sway.
Ordered fish and fries. The fish was so small 2 inch by 2 inch flat thin previously frozen over fried with hardly any fish inside and the fries from a freezer bag tasting like cardboard. Poor quality food. Wasted time and money. Will not go back.
Basecamp is located next to a Townhouse community. It seems odd the location but it is the perfect spot. The exterior looks like a home and it gives a home dining experience. I ordered the Buttermilk Pancake Stack and Stone Ground Grits with Cheese. The food was quiet tasty. The downfall was the grits were not hot and I could not get the syrup to pancake ratio to my liking. I asked for extra syrup twice and was quickly obliged, but the small containers never measured up. I ate outside on the open patio next to the street and also the entrance and exit is located there. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
If you have food allergies, skip. Really only good if you have an iron gut & want comfort food. I have a gluten & pork allergy. There was really nothing for me to eat there. Expensive for basic southern cuisine. At the price point the menu should have more variety & (at least more light options) food should be poppin’ found it bland, basic, overpriced. I had to order grilled chicken & slaw to accommodate my food allergies chicken had no flavor, seasoning, grill marks, effort & cost $11. My kid had a basic stack of pancakes for $8 and we ordered additional scrambled eggs on the side, not seasoned at all. Would suggest adding some yogurt, granola options, bread puddings, fresh fruit, maybe some sourdough pancakes to a basic menu that would still go with the overall theme of the place, a mountain base camp. It’s also somewhat self serve you get your own drinks and such. I can’t fathom why the food is priced so high.
Outstanding food and friendly service. Just a mile or so out of downtown Marietta and a stone’s throw from Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield National Monument. We look forward to eating here again the next time we are in the area.
Nice place, good food, and fair price. The best feature was the staff, they were great! We first went on a Saturday, and there was such a long wait, we chose to go elsewhere. We came back during the week for a brunch and had no issues.
I enjoyed my breakfast at Basecamp.Friendly staff, greeted warmly. I was asked how my food was when they were clearing my table, but no one asked during the meal if I needed anything.Coffee was very good and hot. Had all the sweeteners but only half and half for creamer. I'm torn with the disposable cup. I appreciate the ability to fill my coffee (you have to get your own drinks) as much as I want without waiting for staff and to take it with me, but seems like extra waste when a coffee cup would be more eco-friendly.Atmosphere reminded me of stopping in a local shop while traveling.Clean, people are busy making sure it looks niceThe meal overall was good but there were some issuesI got the fried chicken and french toast. The fried chicken was very moist, flavorful with the right amount of seasoning. It could be drained a few seconds more there was a fair amount of excess grease on my plate. The French toast was yummy and huge.I would agree with other reviewers that the syrup is not good. Not thick at all, mostly tasteless water. The apples come in a Togo ramekin and it makes it hard to eat. They were warm as well, not hot.Parts of the French toast and the chicken were burnt. So you got inconsistency in the qualityOverall I think it's a fairly good place to go. If someone was to invite out for breakfast I'd go back. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again. A little pricey for non full service $20 for breakfast and coffee. Options are limited as well.
Welcomed in with warm greetings and smiling faces! Girl at the register did great job explaining restaurant layout/explaining the menu. Food came out quick. Impressive female led staff! I love to see girl bosses. The food was delicious. I ordered the chicken and french toast. The staff was phenomenal. Cinnamon apples were warm and and full of flavor. My husband, Patrick, loved his sausage paddy egg and cheese biscuit! The two girls who brought our food were incredibly helpful. Cant wait to come back soon!
The idea and some of the execution is nice. Locatefd at the base of Kennesaw Mountain, for which there is literally zero reason to actually need a basecamp, this spot is a breakfast go to for families, runners, and weekend warriors. It's run efficiently, with orders taken at a counter and then seating that turns over well enough to make the experience flow well enough that it seems you aren't waiting in a cramped lobby like you might at so many other places. The decor is interesting, and it all definitely has that rural rustic vibe where trekkers might stop in to grub up before they head out for their next adventure. The staff was pleasant enough at the order counter and in the seating process. You can see into the kitchen where the cooks are busy filling the orders, and the servers tote out the plates of ample portions that certainly look appetizing. We found our food hit and miss. Breakfast items were prepared well enough, although we'd wished for a bit more pop in flavor. They make a nice burger (enough with the brioche buns, world, the bread is too dense and the bun overpowers the burger), but where the ball was dropped was the handcut french fries. They looked done, but they weren't, and it wasn't close. I picked one up and "snapped" it open to exposure raw potato, which is a no no. We showed the issue to the server, but the matter didn't seem serious enough to warrant any further interaction on her end. Disappointing. Overall, the meal was fine, save the dreadful fry issue, and for that experience in and of itself, it warrants a call out for a missed opportunity by this establishment. We've tried it, but aren't likely to try it again. I note there are folks who love it all, and there's likely something to love for everyone. Wasn't our luck.
