Have lived in Perry for almost eleven years and never heard of this place so I’m glad I was reading The Telegraph this morning and saw a story on them changing their policy to buying pork locally. Why isn’t everyone doing that? Anyway, WOW! It was really great. With Martins closing down a couple of years ago, brisket is hard to come by down here (with the exception of Buc-ee’s)and Satterfield’s was top-notch. Hand-cut fries were served hot and the Brunswick Stew was chunky with big pieces of brisket in it, so much better than those who put it in a blender. Looks like an old filling station.
It’s amazing, great food, great service
The sauces and Brunswick stew are amazing 10/10. The brisket was juicy and had solid bark with a great taste on those areas, 10/10. However the meat tho, tender lacked any true smoke flavor, as this carried onto the pork as well 6/10. When paired with the sauces a solid 7.5. Definitely the best bbq I've had in middle GA, just not 5 stars outside of it.
Satterfield's is delicious and always hits the spot. Meats smoked to perfection and sides to compliment! I don't live nearby but I often make the trip just to eat there! You won't be disappointed but don't take my word for it, go try for yourself!
Great spot!! Definitely recommend.
The "5" is for their food - everything was delicious. It smells like smokey heaven when you get there! The service was a little weird. We ordered take-out over the phone and when we got there they told us they don't start take-out orders until we get there! Wth?? Plus they didn't have 2 of the things we ordered. They said the person that took our order on the phone shouldn't be doing that..?? Whatever. We gave them a pass this time! After 30 mins we got our order and it was very tasty. Will go back again on our next visit to Macon.
great people better food. get a thing with their brisket in it and prepare to be amazed.
Excellent pulled pork & smoked turkey. The sides we had (mac & cheese, green beans & collard green) were also excellent.
Sent me a brisket sandwich with no bbq sauce on it or on the side. Ordered through Waitr which was probably a majority of the problem because there was no place to indicate on their website if I wanted bbq sauce, but when I called to let Satterfield’s know about the issue, the girl was rude. If you’re using Waitr and they are an issue, I get it, but don’t take your frustration out on your customers.
We ordered from Satterfield's through the Waitr App. We received our Sandwiches with no BBQ sauce. When we called to advise them, the omission of the sauce was blamed on Waitr. So why would Satterfields think any of us wanted BBQ sandwiches without BBQ sauce? For the record, there was no obvious place on the Waitr app nor Satterfields Website that indicated BBQ sauce must be requested.
