It’s amazing, great food, great service
Great spot!! Definitely recommend.
The "5" is for their food - everything was delicious. It smells like smokey heaven when you get there! The service was a little weird. We ordered take-out over the phone and when we got there they told us they don't start take-out orders until we get there! Wth?? Plus they didn't have 2 of the things we ordered. They said the person that took our order on the phone shouldn't be doing that..?? Whatever. We gave them a pass this time! After 30 mins we got our order and it was very tasty. Will go back again on our next visit to Macon.
great people better food. get a thing with their brisket in it and prepare to be amazed.
We ordered from Satterfield's through the Waitr App. We received our Sandwiches with no BBQ sauce. When we called to advise them, the omission of the sauce was blamed on Waitr. So why would Satterfields think any of us wanted BBQ sandwiches without BBQ sauce? For the record, there was no obvious place on the Waitr app nor Satterfields Website that indicated BBQ sauce must be requested.
I was a fan of the old Satterfield's and was more than a little heartbroken when they closed their doors. When someone told me they were open again I was delighted and took the first opportunity to have lunch there with a friend. To be honest when I walked in I was a little shocked, the interior of the place lacks the charm it once had, and to be a little harsh first impressions were that they were in the process of unpacking from a recent move (which was not the case, just saying). It is not table service like it used to be, you order at the counter when you come in now, and they bring it to you. Everything is served "to go" so no plates, and no silverware or glasses, etc, and I personally think that's a little sad. But that's the end of the story when it comes to what's "not as good as the old Satterfield's". The reason you come, and the reason a number of other sins can be forgiven is the Barbecue. I selected the Brisket, and it was the best I've had in Middle Georgia. That title was previously held by Martin's in Warner Robins, but even if that place hadn't gone out of business, Satterfield's Brisket would have knocked them off that pedestal. It had a wonderful bark, and was moist and tender, with a beautiful smoke ring and a rub that was hitting all the right notes on your pallet without overpowering you in any way. The sauce I selected, which was a Carolina style but as with real good Que, was hardly needed. The fries I had with it were hand cut, and nicely seasoned as well. My lunch partner had the pulled pork, and while i did not sample it, he was every bit as enthusiastic about it as I was about the brisket. I will be back, as soon as schedule permits, and as often as my waist line will tolerate. Although the Middle Georgia BBQ scene is sadly lacking in quality retail establishments, Satterfield's would score well even in a packed competition. Get there, and get some.
not much point in going there is they are not open, not dependable but they do have good food
I’m originally from Texas, so to me, BBQ =Brisket. We bought 4 pounds of brisket for a family gathering, and oh my goodness, it was delicious!!! Tender, lean and just perfect. Thank you, Satterfields!
The best bbq that middle GA has to offer…period. The food is truly edible art. The meats are smoked to perfection and the sides are absolutely delicious, and compliment the meat in all of the right ways. If you’re ever traveling to or through the Macon area (or if you live there) Satterfield’s is a must have!
Great BBQ made by great people. Love this place
