This is a great location with tons of parking. Turning left out of the parking lot is kind of a nightmare- be forewarned. The food is cafeteria style. It’s always very fresh and hot. The sides are our favorite, and the meals come with 2 sides and a choice of bread. It’s a great place to get food and head to the park across the interstate.
My first and last visit to S&S. Thetrays were dirty and had food stuck to them. The servers on the line had a time trying to find clean plates to serve us with. My wife's glass had something floating in it. All this and we hadn't even sat down to eat yet. Finally sit down to eat and my $5 chicken leg was cold, dry and unseasoned. The veggies were cooked to mush and to top it off, the chess pie had a taste somewhere between nutmeg and furniture cleaner. I left half my food on my plate. My wife's meal was no better. then I had to pay $30 for it. The staff was nice. That's about all I can say that's good about the place. A lot of people seem to like it here. Maybe they had a bad day and if it was, it can only go up from there because it can't imagine it being any worse. 12 years in Macon and that was about the worst food experience I've had. I hope you can do better.
Good ole soul food? riverside location is definitely the better option, food tastes delicious with a variety of main courses and sides to fit any cravings one could have. The waitresses here always seem to be n better moods n your table will be takin care of by someone with a smile, thats always worth the extra tip ??go see 4 yourself and enjoy.
I have to say that I haven’t been to S&S for years and to be honest after this trip I will never return again. The food was very poor quality, the servers in the line were definitely not interested in being at work. After trying a few things on the line my wife and I both decided we were better off throwing away $45.00 on the bad food than getting sick so we paid and walked out. Never again would I ever recommend or darken the door of any S&S Cafeteria.

What a great place to get good, heart-warming food. The service is always great. We love the place and eat whenever we are in Macon.
This place is like a maze! They should have a better layout or have it arrange differently so you know which way to go. I order the 4 veggie plate(fried squash, cornbread dressing, Mac n cheese and cabbage). The fried squash was the only thing that was good. The Mac n cheese was the WORST! It tasted like plastic and yellow food coloring! Also I felt the price wasn't worth the amount of food they put in my plate.
We ate there as a team after winning a syate wrestling championship! It was a quick line with tons of fresh food to choose from, wonderful service and the best home country cooking I ever had! Absolutely delicious! Would recommend 100 times over! Wish we had them where we live at! Very affordable, price depends on what all you get! It's an assembly line of sorts with multiple choices!
Cafeteria meal, in and out in 8 min. Decent prices and good selection. Didn't want to kill an hour but didn't want fast food.
I've been going to this s&s for years with my grandmother and we are never disappointed in the food here, me personally I always get a fried white chicken breast with mashed potatoes and ether greenbeans or lima's. I've never had to get some else because it wasn't good or anything. The only thing I could complain about is the service sometimes because while we were there our server only came once. But other than that it's a very good place to eat.
