We were there today at around 11:30a.m. and were the first customers, I think. However, the food was good and the service was fast. We were regular customers for several years prior to COVID but it has been 2 years since our last visit. Our experience was fine but it was always crowded by 11:45 a.m. then. Apparently, it has been difficult for them. I hope it will pick up because it has always been a great little lunch spot.
Don't come here if you're looking for a quick lunch. It takes a minimum of 30 minutes to even take your order, then another 30 to get your food. Which isn't because the kitchen is slow but the expediter is perhaps the slowest person in the world. Your food quality will not be great because of how long it sits in the window. Do yourself a favor and don't come to this McAlister's.
We ordered ahead to this location while on a road trip. It was ready when we got there. So far so good until we opened the bag in the car. The salad dressing was missing from my salad and the fruit salad my husband ordered (and paid extra for) was also missing. We reparked and went in. They knew they were out of fruit but hadn't told us or offered a replacement until we went in. They also made us stand in line again. Why place an order ahead if you still have to stand in line twice anyway?
No words! Placed order online and arrived to pick up at given time, which happened to be about 20 minutes before closing. While getting food, a couple and another individual walked in to order. The person in the back, assuming the cook, came out yelling and cursing at staff about too late to cook. Proceeded to throw things, slam things, tell staff they were lazy and stupid, and refuse to prepare food, including my own, which was placed well before. He said he was done with this place; they didn't pay him enough, and he had **** to do. He locked the door and yelled that no one else was to come in. When another staff member told him the customers had to get out, he said he didn't give a **** and that they should've never been let in. The staff assured customers it was fine, but the tirade continued. The food was cold and several items were left out of our bags.
Understandable short staff. We even offered to help: then staff pulls tickets and special Favors for people that were after us after we had waited for over an hour for our food. Totally unacceptable! At this point it is about integrity!
Got off the interstate to eat here 40min before closing. The employees told us carry out only. I’m not d*** they were cleaning the dining area and didn’t want us to dirty a table. So we left to Moes and had a great quick meal
Staff was exceptionally friendly and the club sandwich with a side of chicken and dumplings made TWO meals for me. Can't go wrong with the sweet tea either.
This veggie sandwich was a big disappointment. No avocado, sad cucumbers and tomatoes.spinach was iffy. I didn't eat it. The potato salad was good though.
This experience has put me off of McAlister's. No customers here yet the service was very slow and poor. My wife and I were served 2 cold dishes that neither of us could eat. We could hear the 3 cooks complaining about their job and pay while we were ordering. The two in the front of the house were ok. Had the lemonade been bad I would have given no stars. 4:04pm Friday. This was a bad experience and a poor example of a Macalister"s franchise.
(Takeout order). Had a kid’s order for turkey and cheese and it was really gross. They had some gross burnt expired cheese attached to it and if a kid ate it, it would have made them sick. They didn’t have coffee cups, but charged us for the coffee and didn't even give it to us. They didn’t give us utensils to eat with or a lit on my sweet tea. Were unprofessional and very unhygienic - really gross honestly. Added three photos of the ‘burnt cheese’:
