If I could give Famous Mike’s less than a zero, I would!!!! My friend and my daughter went to eat at Famous Mike’s Restaurant 07/22/22 at approximately 11:10 pm. We are visiting for a wedding and we have had heard rave reviews about Famous Mikes and decided to check the restaurant out. We are staying at Hotel 45 and decided to walk. My girl friend and I ordered the same thing, the Shrimp and Grits My friend was raving about her shrimp and grits and I wasn’t having that same experience. I told her my food was barely warm and she said my food is hot and delicious. I could see the steam rolling coming of her grits and my fork full was coming up in chunks, I couldn’t even stir the grits. I called the waitress over and she could see that their was a “BIG” difference. She took my shrimp and grits back to the kitchen to replace my order or heat it up, she didn’t say. The actual owner Mike walked up talking loud, at first, We thought he was joking, then I realized that he wasn’t . This man was yelling as loud as he could and yelled at me in front of the”ENTIRE” restaurant, he called me a liar and said he stuck his hand in the food and it was hot. Which was a lie. Mike was really aggressive almost threatening. The man did all that yelling in front of my six year old daughter and she is traumatized right now over a $16.00 bowl of food. If $16.00 is going to run you out of business and make you act like a child having a temper tantrum, he needs to go out of business!!!!! The shrimp were on the hotter side because they came off the grill. The grits were almost hard and my friends grits movable, hot and steaming. Mr Wannabe Famous Mike is prejudice and rude in my opinion and needs to be ran out of business. He need to take an anger management class and a class on inclusion and sensitivity class. Mike’s sweet waitresses seemed to actually be afraid of him and admitted that he yells at his employees. If people witness his mistreatment of his staff and still spend their hard earned money their., This country is really in trouble. The waitresses and patrons were apologizing for Mike. I could have purchased twenty shrimp and grits if I wanted to. I was not trying to get free food, all that I wanted was my food to be hot and not almost cold, If I wanted cold food, I would have ordered a salad.!!!!!! A. Wilson McDonough, GA

Five stars isn’t enough! This place makes you feel like you have friends cooking for you in the back. After hours of traveling we stopped for breakfast. They accommodated us by making breakfast after missing the breakfast cutoff time by a few min! Portion size is very generous, well priced and great atmosphere. Good music too;) Stephanie was our waitress and she was so nice and helpful! Definitely recommend stopping here!

Great atmosphere. Step back in to a simpler world full of great music and amazing, home-cooked food. Excellent staff that refills quickly and takes the time to talk to the diners. Will come.back again!Their biscuits are amazing and we're gone before I could get a picture!

Famous Mike’s has great food at a great price. The staff is friendly and they make you feel like family. The sausage and gravy biscuits are great. Try it with salmon or brisket. The shrimp and grits are a great value. Be sure to save room for the cinnamon roll.

Great place to eat. Big portions and the food tastes great! The key lime pie is the best I've ever had. A must have if you're in the Macon area.

We decided to have a nice sit down breakfast before leaving on our family road trip. I have dietary restrictions and the owner himself came to our table to assure me that my meal did not contain dairy. Great breakfast.

Wow!! Amazing food!! Amazing service!!! The fries were great, the burgers were amazing!! Mike himself brought our food to us and talked to us about the town and then gave us complementary cinnamon rolls which were some of the best I’ve ever had!! 5+++ stars we are visiting from out of state but hope we get a chance to return, highly recommend!!

I was in town for the cherry blossom festival. I came here for lunch and after a short wait, I was seated. Their menu was limited due to the influx of people here for the festival. I ended up getting the brisket plate. For $15, I had half a plate full of thick brisket and two sides. Normally, places skimp on the meat portion, but this place didn’t! Definitely recommend.

Very friendly service. She recommended the daily special which was grilled shrimp. Shrimp and creamed corn were delicious.

This restaurant is by far one of the best places I’ve dined in the downtown macon area. Today was the first Sunday brunch and I was by far excited to eat at this establishment. All you can eat for 20 dollars including desert! Don’t know about you but that had me sold. The chicken was one of the best fried chicken I’ve had; including the corn. The only thing in competition with the food is the fast service provided. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to try somewhere new! No more talking look at the photos!
