The staff is terribly rude and discriminatory, we were asked if we were actually paying for our stuff, given gross looks, etc. The food is really good and probably one or two of the waitresses are actually good at their job. The older lady who’s there everyday was the one to make our experience worse, shes was the main one giving looks and questioning if we were actually going to pay or not. Never had this attitude before in customer service. Most of the staff is also extremely slow, most of the time the restaurants not even busy. We loved this place until these continuous experiences.

The staff at this location are very rude. Specifically Maria and Monica. I called to address a grub hub order with missing items and the first person, Maria insisted that they do not even partner with Grubhub (which was a lie because I confirmed the location in the app and with them) let them know that items were missing and they said that they put each order in separate bags. We had 7 orders and they only gave us 5. Maria then put Monica on the phone and they did not care to try to make it right by the customer. And when asked to speak to the manager Enrique they just said that he wasn’t available. I will never order from here again. Customer service is important and they did not do their job in providing that.

There is very little consistency within the El Sombrero brand. At the Forsyth Rd location they have a gluten free menu. I asked the same question here on North Ave and the lady quickly pointed out “this is a Mexican Restaurant” as if I didn’t know I was sitting in an El Sombrero. Then I ordered a Vodka Soda and it was very clearly cloudy (it was a vodka tonic I COULD TASTE THE TONIC) and the waitress actively debated me about whether I had just sipped a Vodka tonic or not and flatly refused to make it right. The bartender admitted she put some “flavoring” in there I DIDN’T WANT. The waitress heard this and clearly refused to do anything about it. I WON’T BE BACK TO THIS PLACE. The El Sombrero on Forsyth Rd is much better. And so is the Margarita’s near Mercer campus.

I always love it here. Our waitress was new but she was trying so hard and it showed!

El Sombrero has been my favorite restaurant for over 20 years... until today. I would not wish the cooking here on my worst enemy. Chips were stale, food was bad, dessert was reheated and burnt. She did take the dessert off the ticket. This was their only saving grace. The waiter apologized and told us the cook had "passed him off all day because he couldn't cook. Not chips. Not anything." When that's what the wait staff says that tells you alot.

This is my favorite mexican restaurant. Their house special with chicken, steak and shrimp is delicious. I also love their cheese dip. I havent had a bad meal from here.

The food is good but the wait time is extremely long at the North Ave. location. I waited 45 minutes for a to- go order and watched as customers who wanted to dine in wait 20 minutes to be seated, and it was very slow. I can only assume they are short staffed but I will not go to this location again.

This was the entire order of steak nachos. It’s had about 7 chips. I emailed them to give them a chance to correct before posting this review but never heard back. This is not an order of nachos by any standards. I stopped eating here a while ago because the food started to be so bad but gave it another shot and regretted it.

Love the house special ❤ try itMy favorite

Great food, good service. I usually get fajitas of one kind or another. They never disappoint.
