My son and I enjoyed the food and overall vibe. Great staff too! Highly recommend this spot. We were passing through town and am glad we found The Dovetail!
Always an amazing experience! From the moment you walk in the door to the moment you sadly must leave. We have never had a dish we didn’t swoon over, we’ve even ordered things we don’t like (mushrooms on a burger? Never! *takes bite* this is the most amazing food I’ve ever put in my mouth!) This time we took home leftovers and they were just as amazing next day!!! All time favorite place to eat, period!
Outstanding service, food and atmosphere. Loved everything about this warm, cozy and delicious spot. It is clear that the entire staff loves what they do and the level of service matches the masterful food that comes out of this kitchen.
Our dinner at Dovetail was really outstanding! The food and service were exceptional! Our waiter, Caleb, was very friendly and very knowledgeable. His recommendations for food and drink were on point. We started with the house pickles and deviled eggs and both were excellent. We shared the house salad and scallops, and the scallops were cooked perfectly! We also shared the sea bass entrée and it was also cooked to perfection! And whoever made that romesco sauce has got it going on, lol!!! ? We highly recommend Dovetail: great food and great service. ?
Would go again, didn’t have ingredients for a majority of mocktails, permanently turned a friend off with alcohol entirely when the server suggested a non alcoholic beer. Should have known better. Especially After we stated to make a low abv cocktail. A Shirley temple with a quarter oz. Of vodka would have sufficed rather than a nonalcoholic ipa flavor beer. Food was phenomenal, however, expected more though with how the community talks up this place.

Charming, fun location, nicely decorated, great ambiance. Sound level permits comfortable conversation with no need to talk loudly or strain to hear. Interesting and unconventional menu, great for diners looking for something upscale and different. Some dishes are quite rich; if that's a potential issue for you, be aware of what you order in combination. Prices on the high side, though that fits with the aura this restaurant endeavors to project. Great to have a spot like this in Macon!
