The food at Dawson's is always awesome. Love eating here. They also have bakery items and jams/jellies for sell. Just an awesome place.

Customer service is great but the food was not unfortunately it didn't have any seasoning on the fried chicken and the greens tasted a lil undercooked ??♂️
Went through line at 1pm on July 2nd with much apprehension due to the dirty floors and less than sanitary atmosphere. The fried chicken thigh was very crispy and Very dry to the point of petrification. The green beans were soggy and rice was OK with a dark thick sticky gravy. The cornbread muffin was very hard and barely edible. The only saving grace for this joint was the roasted pecans for sale at the checkout counter.
I was disappointed today. I use to eat here all of the time with my late husband. The owner reached out to me which I appreciated greatly. I hope this restaurant can rise to the top again. I think they need more workers who cares more about the quality and not trying to rush through orders. The roast beef and sides were good but I just wished I had my other order of roast beef and sides and banana pudding I purchased. I ordered from doordash. Doordash workers needs to check people orders before leaving the establishment. That's their only job is to make sure the customer gets their food. Doordash is supposed to be a convenience and not a inconvenience.
They are just there to make you fat. Everything in there is made from scratch and it tastes so good. Went in to purchase cookies for my mother I left with cookies for myself half a cake and 2 dinners. LOL.
Great meat & 2. Usually get the salmon croquettes. My wife swears by the fried chicken. The cookies are a great after-lunch treat.
Went in today 4-12 and purchased 2 meals. One Meatloaf meal with mac n cheese, cabbage, roll and the other was a fried chicken breast, with jalapeno peppers and cornbread. The food is/was delish, it's true down home homecooking. The young lady who prepared the plate was friendly, as she smiled and made small talk with those in line.It was my first visit. So I did a couple things awkwardly, like having to double back to tip the lady who made my plates, after cashing out at the front.Unfortunately, the two kids at the front were rude. Not because of what they said to me....but what they didn't say. I wasn't greeted, I wasn't offered any help as I looked over the desserts, I stated it was my first time, and I didn't see any prices for hot food or desserts. They were holding convo regarding the young guys weight...which is inappropriate when you have a customer. I tipped them also, but it was undeserving. I like to be greeted, and possibly even told, thanks for coming or something where I spend my money. But the food was 5 stars. I will try them again. Next time I just won't tip the ppl at the front if that's how I will be treated.
I love love the baked goods here and home cooked dinners are excellent for lunch/dinner. Cakes, pies, cookies for quick events and special occasions too...order ahead. I recommend the key lime cake, cheese cake brownies and my new fav...peanut butter chocolate chip cookies...yum,yum!
I have eaten here quite a few times, but it has really gone downhill! Today I got hamburger steak & it was bland. Everything was actually! No seasoning on any of the vegetables. My previous visit I ordered roast beef that I couldn't even cut with the plastic ware I was given. Also, the price is not really reasonable considering the little amount of food given. The one star is for their deserts. Everyone I have tried has been delicious & fresh. Anyway, wake up Dawson's Kitchen! I used to recommend this place a lot but never again!
