What a disappointing experience. I've been passing this place for a couple of weeks since I moved to the neighborhood and had been sooo excited to try. The concept is there but the execution was a fail. Truthfully the service was its biggest detriment. My mother, my two small children, and I had gone in for lunch. The server never smiled nor introduced himself. Only gave us 1 kids menu for my 2 children and no crayons despite them being clearly there. We first asked for waters and ordered the crab dip. He came back with the waters and left no straws even though the kids cups required them. So like the crayons I got up and got our straws myself. We ordered our entrees and waited. As the restaurant filled and people that came after us were already eating I got up once again to ask our server if we were going to get our dip before our entrees...uhhhh was the response I got. We finally got the dip and it was indeed delicious despite it being plopped on the table like an inmates food tray. Entrees showed up a few minutes later. My children ordered pasta with marinara and recieved it with Alfredo. When I told the server his response was, "oh that's right". We sent it back for the proper sauce and instead the pasta came back in watered down marinara that wouldn't even stick to the noodles. Meanwhile my mother went to eat her so called fish melt and the seafood salad on it was ice cold and the cheese wasn't even melted so we had to send that back as well. Worst part was that the server was never apologetic but rather had a worsening attitude as the meal progressed. When the melt came made properly it was nice and the tacos were mediocre at best. Sad to say the food itself shows potential if consistent, but I'd be hard pressed to consider dining there again with that kind of service. Please note, never once was any form of management present.
Good comfort food. Price and selections are great highly recommend
A great local chain with fresh seafood and kind servers! I got coffee and the lobster bisque, which was rich and flavorful and had no gluten ingredients. The server was kind enough to go check the ingredients list for me. The fish fillet was cooked and seasoned perfectly as well and the tacos didn’t disappoint. You probably can’t go wrong here.
I had lunch shrimp fish oysters and fry’s and slaw it was fresh hot the place is clean the service was excellent if in the area and want some good seafood try this place
Great service. Fresh hot seafood. Daily specials. I wish that we had one in Dunwoody. We make that hour drive for good food. We love the herb red skin potatoes. We like the music that they play at Winder location. Kudos to O'Shucks.
Food was average. Portions were just barely adequate for the money. I will be back and will revise my review after I have a dine-in experience. However, i'm docking the score because of the mandatory gratuity for take-out orders. For restaurants like this I normally tip take-out so that wasn't the issue. However, (to me at least) a gratuity or tip is a gift that is given as a thank you for good service. All I got was my order taken and food delivered.I recognize the issue is probably supporting your staff who are not getting as many dine-in customers and that is laudable, but I feel that should be accomplished by an across the board price increase rather than a mandatory gratuity charge. They can run their business how they like, but this choice turned me off and made it less likely for me to return.
Best sea food I've had in a long time with great prices
First time trying O’Shucks. Being new to the area, I look forward to trying new restaurants. I ordered the grouper sandwich with garlic red potatoes. The sandwich was tasty and the potatoes were okay. I ordered the Wednesday special of oysters and had to throw them away. They were hard and not chewable. I may try again because I liked the grouper and it’s a fish that hard to find on menus.
first time here the other day and i had such a wonderful experience! thanks to miss trinity! she knew the menu really well and recommended suuuch a good meal!!! she had really good customer service and made me feel so welcomed! 10/10 experience
The fish was overcooked and undersalted but I understand that can be subjective. The problem was the rice that came with the fish was also cold and obviously not fresh. The hush puppies were previously frozen. Overall, the food was unimpressive for the $20/plate cost. When we were asked how we liked the food, we were honest but were given excuses like the rice is made ahead of time and not supposed to be hot. That's fine, but that's not what you pay for at that price when you go out to eat. We just won't be back.
