The fried chicken is awesome ?
If you are in the mood for some good old southern country vittles you need to check out journeys end in Loganville GA. It’s owned by the same people who run the Blue Willow Inn, way out in Social Circle. This is a local restaurant for me, and I think it’s a great place to go if you’re mighty hungry.
My husband, Tommy and I just returned home from our #datenight. He surprised me and drove out to Loganville so that we could try Journey's End restaurant again. It's been at least 5 years since we last dined at this place, and we wanted to see if any significant changes have occurred over time. I noticed right away that the exterior looked updated. We arrived around 6pm, so there wasn't a big crowd or long wait, like we recall on Sunday afternoons of days passed. We were promptly greeted as soon as we entered the front door, and our orders were taken at the waitress stand...2 buffets with complimentary sweet tea. We fixed our plates before sitting in our chosen booth. There was a good variety of meats, veggies, starches, breads and soup. There was also a salad & fruit bar, dessert bar and soft-serve ice cream machine stationed beside a pan of apple cobbler. The kitchen staff kept each pan of food full/topped off during our entire stay. I was able to eat 2 full plates of food [Plate1: fried chicken wings, rice w/gravy, snap (green) beans, corn bread muffin, yeast rolls and a side dish of chicken dumpling soup...Plate 2: fried chicken wings, turnip greens, yellow squash and sliced red potatoes]. Tommy ate three plate of food and was excited to have black-eyed peas over rice with roast beef. My favorite item of the meal was the fried chicken...hot, crispy and well-seasoned ? Tommy agreed with me on this. Everything else tasted ordinary...decent and filling but not brag-worthy. However, the price point was great. I didn't find the cold bar or dessert bar appealing, so I avoided both. There were obviously customers who frequent here because I noticed the waitress calling them by name. Several senior citizens were observed coming in as well. It appears this restaurant is maintaining; staying afloat. It was clean and well-kept despite some antiquated decor. I can see us returning again someday, just because ?
First time here and the food was good , however I wish they had a better selection with more foods and desserts. They didn’t have anything baked on the menu. I would return though .
BEST southern cuisine in Loganville, Ga. You will definitely get your money's worth in food. Also, the health precautions taken bring a heighten level of comfort. Everyone is required to wear a mask and clean disposable gloves each time they go to the buffet table. ???
The atmosphere was great and the food was delicious.
The variety of food is extremely limited. I've never been to a buffet that didn't at least have baked chicken, until today. Food was slightly above bland. I wish I could rate the server as she was a 4 star but I can't. I doubt seriously I will ever eat here again as I was greatly disappointed. This is just my opinion and I rarely would tell anyone not to eat some anywhere based on my tastebuds so I will say please judge for yourself.
Very small selection. Food was ok. The place is very very small. Smell really bad like dirty diapers. Was hard to even eat with the smell. Will not be returning or recommend this as a family place. Especially due to size and variety of food.
Excellent service and great food
If you’re tired of going to restaurants, and you can’t get that fresh country taste. Quit looking and go here. Been going since I was little & it’s still the great fresh taste!
