Amazing hidden gem. Food was delicious and the service was amazingly fast
The worst "Japanese" or sushi restaurant I have ever had in Gwinnett.I often order sushi, or go out to eat sushi, at least once or twice a weekThe place I normally order Togo from (Yami!!! I love you) is closed on Sundays so I ordered from Momo.I ordered the Rainbow roll, the spider roll, and the vegetable tempura. The same items I normally order from my fave places. The Rainbow roll is....disgusting. the fish on top was dried out, wrinkled, discolored, disgusting. The spider roll was so soggy,no flavor, of.Both rolls were poorly put together and fell apart rice grain by rice grain when picked up.The vegetable tempura, which was 99% sweet potatoes, was $15.50 but advertised as coming with soup, salad, and white rice. I got none of this. With tip I spent $61. I am so disappointed in the quality.Update******* I got food poisoning!!!!!
The old owners were great. Used to eat lunch here 4 times a week. Reasonable, delicious and nice customer service by their family. What has happened is so sad in the sale of the restaurant. Now the cheapest hibachi is 300% more? No thanks I’ll eat at McDonald’s next door.
I’ve been coming here since before Covid , because although expensive they have delicious food! However there’s a new sickly women in the front with a atrocious demeanor who they have answering phones and taking guest and it is clear that she is incapable of handling customers! I was told on the phone that she did not have time to answer my one simple question on if I got to chose my sushi sashimi combo or if it was chefs choice. She rudely told me on the phone To go to the restaurant and ask her in person which I did! When I got to the restaurant there were 3 tables who have clearly already eatin and 1 person waiting to order behind me who walked out. I proceeded to ask my question When this woman ignored me and assaulted me and I couldn’t believe that the sickly woman with the atrocious demeanor was more interested in watching a woman sign her name on a receipt Than answering my One simple question. When she redirected her attention to me she grew even more nasty after she asked me to go on with my order. She kept asking me to repeat my order and I wasn’t interested in attempting to talk over her. I decided to save the 80$ and go to shogun. Idk if she is a relative to the owners , but no one would hire such a rude and bigoted individual to act as customer service to guest of their restaurant. I told her she just lost a loyal customer and she called me a name that I wish not to repeat and told me she would spit in my food if I came back I told her I would write a review she said go ahead as I walked out ! Anyway shogun was good and their customer service was stupendous and I will probably go there to get my sushi fix fromnow on . I’ve been a bartender/server at different restaurants for over 10 years I am a certified server trainer and no matter how flustered, I would never talk to a guest like that.
After seeing their rating, I'm positive whoever made my sushi just didn't care because it was a door dash order or an hour from closing. Either way, it's a complete joke for the end piece of every roll to have nothing but rice/seaweed and a piece of cucumber. And the completed ones were so mediocre. How does this place have a decent rating?
Clean. Good customer service. Dine in or take out. Limited parking. Delivery services go inside to pickup.
FINALLY. A great sushi place in lawrenceville. New owners since July 2020. And it shows. We moved from Virginia Highlands in Atlanta - where you couldn't throw a rock without hitting a sushi restaurant. All of them good. Especially MF. We tried all the Lawrenceville and Snellville options when we moved. But we were disappointed in most of those. So we were super excited to find this place. Melt in your mouth sushi and rolls. Seriously - some of the best I've had. Anywhere. I think it is family owned and operated. It's never busy. So GO! We must make sure they thrive and stay in business! Recommend: the pink lady roll
This was a casual Japanese restaurant. Ordered the combination with scallops and filet mignon. It was so good. They don’t cook the food that the table-FYI. Service was great and sushi menu extensive.
The sushi was really good and fresh. The service could have been much better.. there were only two tables with guests in the restaurant and our food took some time. I didn't expect to wait 15-20 minutes for soup. The waitress kept clearing our table while we were sitting there, which was annoying. At least they were really nice.. and checked on us quite a bit after we were served.
Honestly, it's very okay. Average is like $11-14 per roll, but they charge a 15% service fee (not gratuity) for dine-in, which I was caught off guard. I had 2 special rolls and a scallop sashimi; set me back $42 after tip. I was in shock. But I want to support them, so I did not complain. Would definitely only come here once in a long while
