Terrible dining experience. 1 hour wait for service. Short of help. Food prep sloppy and bland. Drink orders sat for 20+ minutes at the bar waiting for delivery to table.Food delivered sporadically with no table ware. No napkins, kitchen could not keep up although there were not that many people inside. Gave kitchen service priority to take out orders. To be fair, our party of 8 arrived at 10 pm and the only 2 servers were new. We were assured on arrival by manager that we could still be served.
Applebee's has been a reliable food establishment in Lawrenceville for many years. Not anymore. I understand the restaurant business took a hit with Covid-19 and even with inflation. I'm sure finding staff could be all a huge issue. Tonight we ordered from Applebee's through Doordash. Long story short I ordered the strawberry grilled chicken salad. It comes with a breadstick, it was missing. Not the first time, but I looked over it. Well my chicken wasn't on the salad either. I couldn't look over that. I polity called Applebee's got two of the rudest and unprofessional people on the phone. The first one told me I could drive to the restaurant and pick it up. Why would I do that since I ordered doordash to do that. No reason to argue with this rude person. I requested a Manager and got Ray on the phone. She apparently skipped the customer service part of training. She spoke to me in a manner that isn't appropriate to post then hung up on me. With that being said. Be sure to communicate with your dasher to assure your order is accurate. I was told the dasher cannot look in the order. That seems to create a conflict to me. I don't know who is telling the truth between Doordash and Applebee's, but Doordash has average customer service and refunded me for my salad. However, it's the restaurants job to prepare the order. Either way the experience was a disappointment. Jist of it. If you order thru Doordash and it's wrong the Manager Ray is going to tell you off and slam the phone in your ear.Update: I was contacted by the RM. The "hostess" seated us, she was a little disheveled. We were seated at a table with a puddle of water and a sticky spot, which tells me that table wasn't cleaned after the last people. The food was good and our waitress was fabulous. I think it was the 1st impression of the hostess that put a bad feeling and I could not wait to leave.
After working 10 hours, I wanted a cold beer and a good meal. I sat at the bar and was asked did I want a menu. I got the menu. The bartender served drinks and took food orders for everyone (total of 8) but me. She finally disappeared for several minutes and that’s when I left. I never was asked what did I want to drink or eat. As I was leaving, 6 people were waiting at the front door for someone to seat them. Whenever I come back to this town, I will try this location again. But tonight, it didn’t work out so well. I ended up going to Hooters.
I decided to give Applebee's another try. This used to be my go to spot. Unfortunately since the pandemic, this is another business that has suffered. I ordered the three cheese penne pasta with chicken. It just didn't taste the same, and the breadstick was almost burned. My Daughter had a hamburger with fries, my Wife had the Oriental chicken salad, and my Granddaughter had chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks. I couldn't eat all of my food, it just wasn't good. I tasted one of my Daughters fries, and it felt like I instantly got high blood pressure from all the salt on them. My Wife said it was just a salad, nothing special, and my Granddaughter are most of her food. I won't give the waitress name, because I know they were understaffed, but we didn't get offered a tea refill not once. We also had the spinach and artichoke dip for appetizer, and it was a big chunk of artichoke not pressed, I mean way different than when I used to enjoy. It's not just this location, but several I have gave a try, but I will not be returning.
The Bartender Nevyhad taken my order then sat and chatted to all the guys and gave them everything even free drinks. Not once did she ever come back to help me with my food. Everyone else had to give me my food and all the items needed for my burger. She was to busy flirting with all the guys. The Manager had to check me out. I worked in the business for years I would have never allowed someone like her serve my customers. She did the same thing to another lady. She only cared about the guys. Terrible service. Kirsten a bartender here on the weekend is excellent and Ray the manager is the best. This bartenderWas by far the most unprofessional bartender I've ever encountered. Had taken a salad home opened the box and there was rubber chicken and hardly any salad. From looking over reviews that's a common issue. They can't keep employees. Ray the manager was working kitchen and dishwasher. Ray I can't understand with all your experience why you would work at Applebee's. Your better then that Ray. You need to learn to speak up and not allow your employees to walk over you .
Not good. To start, my husband ordered the fish and chips, and I ordered the tomato soup and combo tortilla chips. She came back and said they were out of the tomato soup. So I told her to cancel my order, and I ordered the Neighborhood Nachos. It was taking a little bit and she came back to tell me that ‘our’ nachos would be out shortly. ‘Wait! I didn’t cancel his order.’ She looked worried and hurried to the kitchen. She came back shortly with his fish and chips. The fish was hard on the outside and undercooked on the inside, and the fries were cold. About five minutes later, she brought out a massive order of nachos for me. It was beautiful. big, and it only contained about four ounces of ground beef and about the same amount of cheese. It did, however, have lots and lots and lots of salsa. It tasted okay, the chips were fresh, but I really was expecting more meat and cheese. I was also expecting my water to be refilled. That is why I sat my totally ignored empty glass on the edge of the table. I left thirsty.
Very poor service. Waited an hour for food, when I asked for a manager they took a while before coming out. When manager did come and finally brought the food she asked what was wrong. I asked why did it take an hour for nachos, 1 hamburger, and a appetizer sampler. She responded with, we are short with staff in the kitchen. I then asked why were we not informed prior to us seating that wait times were longer than normal. Her response was I did not think It would take that long for you to get your food... no compensation was done for us waiting so long to get food nor for the fact that out food was not hot. Will not be returning to this location as it seems that they are not concerned with trying to take care of customers. This all happened on 2-5-22 @ 9pm.
We had great service which is very rare nowadays due to short staffing. The food was perfect. We'll definitely be coming back
Dining in and my fries was cold and old ask for new ones got the same fries. Then i said now these are cold just like the ones you brung out, then she brung me out some fresh cook. But the fact that she thought i came out roneat food that was cook before i left my house to get there. Really dont sit well with me. To be a server you serve people food you want to eat. Just like she went back there and told them to cook some new fries she could have did that when she first seen that the fries were old.and if did not see it she need to so better.
