Overall, this was a great meal that my family and I shared to go. I docked a star because the barbecue plate that I ordered did not have either of the sauces I requested, I probably should have checked before leaving. Also, the baked beans did not have a good taste, at least, not what I was hoping for.Staff was responsive as soon as I walked in the door and all of the food I ordered was ready and waiting.
Absolutely some of the best bbq I have ever had!! So melt in your mouth delicious!! Atmosphere was great and service was awesome!! Tons of choices .. I recommend the quesadilla!! The brisket was incredible!!
If there was zero stars I’d give that other than the ONE waitress that finally cameOver was nice. I understand short staff but I don’t understand letting people wait at the front to be seated for 20 min and not be greeted even from afar. There were lots and lots of employees in there last night and a simple…” welcome we willBe with you shortly”Would have been nice. Waiting so along only to be told seat yourself then waiting 20 more minutes for menus and a drink. When we asked the waiter he said “I have to do something first but don’t think I haven’t seen you cause I have”. Finally someone else came and she was nice. Order multiple dishes and to say this is the worse food ever is spot on. I’ve never had such bland food to where the onion rings tasted like crunchy cardboard. Does this place own any kind of seasoning? My son googled “best sweet potato fries” and this is what came up. He should have put “worse”…..maybe being from out of town and from Cajun country seasoning is in my blood and perhaps it is not here in Georgia. Nonetheless very much wasted money and I will advise no one to visit this place EVER. Food network has a show where a guy comes in a does an overhaul on restaurants. I suggest reaching out to him. How can you serve food of such poor quality. I’m a well fed gal and I left everything on my plate. My mamma would be so disappointed in me not cleaning my plate, but my stomach and taste buds thanked me…..good luck in the future I will mail you all some seasonings and recipes to follow….
What a great place to meet!! The food was delicious and even with a big crowd, served hot and perfectly cooked. Jennifer was so efficient and friendly. Thanks to Mike and the Hog Heaven staff for another great reunion. We always eat there when in LaGrange! A great BBQ place for an avid BBQ lover!
Fries were more on the brown side. The Babyback ribs had a delicious sauce, which they called The Cowboy sauce, it was sweet and tangy. The ribs itself were alright, the outside was a bit dry and hard to chew and had little meat. The meat that was there was soft and fatty at least.
Terrible experience, took an hour and half to get our food with 4 kids waiting. When the food came the kids burgers were burnt, the Mac and cheese looked like it had been sitting out all the day. The $25 steaks were 85% fat. The turkey sandwich was dry and full of fat. The onion rings for burnt. The manager wasn't helpful. Would NEVER RECOMMEND. Don't go!!
The food was great for a Saturday afternoon. I had my dogs with me and my family, this was the perfect place for a dog-friendly lunch. The service was top-notch. My server brought our orders out hot and fresh. They gave me water for the dogs. I discovered Lagrange doesn't have many dog-friendly restaurants. I highly suggest visiting if you are out with your fur babies.
almost an hour for a call in order.. got bbq and a hamburger steak..cook yelling at waiters...DON'T TAKE ANY TICKETS OR ANSWER THE PHONE.. no kind of MANAGER skills in sight.. negative 2 stars
It makes me sad to write this review. This used to be a good place to eat. The service was great and the food was good. Sadly, the original owner sold it and the new management is letting it slowly slide into a place with poor service and inconsistent food. My most recent attempt to eat at Hog Heaven was made today, March 3, 2022. I say attempt because after sitting at my booth for 10+ minutes no one had asked for my lunch order or offered to bring me something to drink. And it wasn't like the place was packed. There were plenty of available tables and a pretty empty parking lot (not something you expect from a place that used to do a ridiculously successful lunch business). I guess I should have complained, but I could find no one to whom to complain. I left without placing an order. This place has the potential to be a good restaurant. The staff that I routinely meet are friendly and make you feel welcome. While the food quality is not as consistent as it used to be, more often than not the food is pretty good. But the delays.... I have never worked in the food service industry. I cannot begin to diagnose the root cause for these problems. All I know is this: 1) Service is slow. Slow on getting your order, slow on attracting a server for refills, etc., and slow on cashing out and being on your way. 2) There appear to be too few servers during the peak lunch rush. 3) The staff (be it kitchen or servers) may or may not bring your order prepared as you requested. 4)The food quality is usually good, but it is poor frequently enough to make you wonder what you will be getting. Hog Heaven has the potential to be great. I know they can do it because Hog Heaven used to be a great place for lunch. Come on folks! Tighten things up! Please give me a reason or two to revise or delete this review!
Went tonight and it just was not good…. The tea tasted old, ketchup tasted like it had been sitting in a bottle in the hot sun… I got the ribs which are pretty pricey and they were so dry I actually had to spit some of it out cause I couldn’t break it down. I’m not one to send things back so that’s on me but Iv heard horror stories of the man who owns it or who used to so I wasn’t taking any chances. However, our waitress was great! I will give credit where it’s due.
