Great old-school window-service/diner restaurant with a retro vibe. SUPER friendly people and good food. Hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream sandwiches... yep. Wish more restaurants were like this!!
A staple of LaGrange Georgia. I eat here almost every time we go to town. Food is always great, service is superb and the prices are excellent. My favorite is a hot dog with spicy relish and cheese.
The food here is great. So much so in fact that after our first order we ordered seconds. The Lemon Sours are a thing to experience if not enjoy. They are indeed sour. My family will visit here again next time we are in LaGrange
The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was pretty cool. Very small, very crowded, and the food was just so-so. If you're passing through and you want to experience the old lunch counter this place is worth a visit.
Such a gem to find! We actually found out about this place from a former employee who works at Johnny's! So glad she shared and happy we went looking for it. It's about 40 minutes away from where we live, but it was worth the drive to discover it. Very old school, nostalgic, tiny little place in Old Town...I'm in love! Had the Slaw Dog (coulda ate 2) and also ordered a Cheeseburger (next time we will do a double!) Friendly folks working there, very attentive to your needs and prices are decent. I guess we looked at an older menu online, cuz the prices had gone up, but still very reasonable! We WILL BE BACK ?
A restaurant that spans generations. The chili-cheese dog I had as a teenager forty years ago was just as tremendous today. Please continue to support your local businesses.
Great experience, great service. Food was good; limited menu, and burger patties are thin. Venue is amazing and authentic. No frills. Every small town wishes their diner was Charlie Joseph’s.
Really nifty place to visit since it's been around such a long time and has "the world's best hot dogs." We never skip it if we're in Lagrange. Friendly service. That said, the steamed hot dogs and hamburgers may not measure up to true "best" standards, and don't eat indoors if you want to have high standards of COVID safety - this place is packed seat-to-seat and ZERO staff and patrons wear masks. (You can walk up outside or take it to go if this bothers you.)Recommended as a quirky must-do if you're in the area.
Hot dogs from my youth! We made it through 1/3 of the menu and were so full. Such a variety on the menu; something for everyone to enjoy. We will be going back to finish the " menu". Excellent service, fresh food and you watch your food being made.A MUST for every HOT DOG Lover!
I may be a little biased (since my dad owns it), but I’ve loved this place for as long as I can remember. This little hole in the wall is full of charm and bustling with life. There is so much history surrounding it and is truly a staple of the small town of Lagrange.
