Great service, great food. We met one of the cooks at Bernie's at a bar so I wanted to try it but it was lunch time and Bernie's is a dinner only place. He told me they also own Trackside and I've passed it a million times but never had the time and inclination to stop at the same time. My wife and I sat on the roof (only patrons who did so due to lots of pollen) and enjoyed a great view of a train going by and of downtown Kennesaw. The food was upscale southern. I had a pot roast that was really a lump short rib served over simple but tasty mashed potatoes with a delicious red wine gravy, pearl onion,.carrots and celery (celery must have been for flavor only it was too tough to eat). It was delicious. I also opened with a bowl of spicy crab and tomato bisque, which was very good if not my favorite soup ever. My wife had salmon with lemon caper butter sauce served over Parmesan garlic grits. I don't eat salmon and I didn't love the bite of her grits that I had but fortunately, she did.The service was upscale as well. A polite waiter in his late 20s or early 30s who has the demeanor of a helpful salesperson. He recommended the pot roast over the meatloaf, paid attention to every detail of the order including a fairly complicated iced tea setup. He also strongly reminded me of a minor celebrity but I can't figure out who it is.I will definitely use this restaurant as a meeting place for business lunches in the future and I'm sure my wife and I will dine here again as well.
I had both the Crab Cake and Fried Green Tomatoes starters. The FGT was a good portion but the crab cake was small and mushy like tuna salad. I've never had one so mushy. The FGT didn't come with a sauce, like most places, but they were pretty good. The server wasn't friendly. It was just a blah experience all the way around.
Everything was prepared to our satisfaction. Our server provided great recommendations and we enjoyed her recommended wine and steak entree. We will be back for their outdoor dining when the weather improves.
We just had an amazing rehearsal dinner at Trackside and I could not have been more happy with how everything turned out. We received so many compliments on the beautiful space and amazing food. Working with Brett made everything a snap. He worked with us to curate the menu and was very transparent regarding pricing, which was so helpful. We didn’t even opt to decorate the space further for the dinner given how lovely it was already, especially with the roaring fire going. The food was delicious and I highly recommend Trackside for any event or just a great night out!
Me and some friends went to Trackside for some after dinner cocktails. The staff was rude and unaccepting..
My wife and I are here on a Friday during lunchtime. She had the catfish, grits and asparagus. I had the shrimp & grits with andouille sausage. We shared a crab cake. The crab cake was pretty good. Nothing to write home about. The entrees were really good though. No the asparagus, it was good just not seasoned as well as it should. Everything else was fantastic! The only reason they loose a star is that they were kinda slow, the servers weren’t exactly nice (they did their job but no friendliness) lastly the bathrooms had water in the soap dispensers. It was kinda like washing your hands with white water. The saving grace was their really nice smelling hand sanitizer.
Was ok. Was not busy at all. Only few tables were full (middle of afternoon about 230pm) Took while to get hostess, no smiles on any of the staff, salmon was ok, little tough cuz over cooked.1/2 Spinach salad was good. Grits and spinach was good.Pretty pricey
One of my favorite places to eat. You can never ever go wrong eating here. The food is perfect every single time
This family run business has been open since 1970. They serve these home made corn muffins warmed when you sit down. After one bite I knew everything else I ordered would be delicious. I ordered the calamari, the potato/mushroom soup and the pot roast. This pot roast was as good as my Mom's. I ended up taking home half the calamari and most of the pot roast because my eyes were bigger then my stomach. I had to try dessert too because I don't live here. I order the bread pudding delicious too. 2 bites was all I could muster. If I'm ever back in this town I will most definitely eat here again.
Visited Trackside for the first time on New Years Eve 12/31/21. We had a party of 6 and the entire experience was AWESOME!!Fireplace and Christmas tree were warm and welcoming.5 of us had fillet migeon and I had the pot roast. Each steak was cooked to perfection, medium rare. The pot roast was like butter.Kudos to the chef and the excellent waiter!!Would highly recommend!!
