Maybe I ordered the wrong things, but I was expecting more traditional sushi rolls. When I didn't see what I would consider traditional rolls on the menu I figured I should go ahead and try something different (assuming that maybe this is what they specialize in). These were more like sushi burritos in my opinion rather than sushi rolls. They also weren't very tasty. The service was kind of slow. The sake cocktails were delicious though, but not really why I went to a sushi place for lunch... Not planning to go back. I'd recommend RA Sushi or 8 Sushi in Atlanta. Or even the Orient in Marietta.
Stopped by to have a late lunch and they got me in pretty quick considering it wasn't that busy. I ordered the ramen and a roll of sushi. I found the ramen to be fairly bland and the butter pork did not taste buttery and was pretty tough. The sushi on the other hand was what I expected and was exactly as described in the menu. I wanted to have my ramen taken back but they would have to still charge me for it as there's no returning or exchanging food, unfortunately. No discount of any kind was applied. Overall, if I were to come back, I'd opt for just the sushi and unfortunately avoid most anything else.
Food was good, but service was not as good... Server disappeared for long periods of time. We all ordered some sauces, teriyaki and yum yum etc. But they wait till we are halfway done eating to bring it. But we didn't know until we got our bill they charged us a dollar per tiny plastic container of sauce. We had 5 people so they charged us $15 in sauces, then on top of that they automatically charged 18% tip for 5 people calling it a service fee. Never heard of charging tip for a family of only 5 people. For 8 or more, absolutely. Anyway was good food but was really poor communication and service. They should have told us the sauces were extra at the very least and brought them when the food came out.
Ordered 4 rolls and rice. Almost a $60 order. 3 out of 4 rolls tasted super fishy and old, didn't even try the 4th. We stopped eating after just a few bites. There was discoloration on the fish on one roll. Even our rice just tasted bad. My husband immediately felt sick. I called the restaurant and asked if we could get a refund as none of it was edible. I was told no refunds and they would give me 20% off next visit. I said I'm sorry but we just paid $60 for food that tastes disgusting and old, we won't be using a 20% off for next visit. The employee said I could call the manager. I did that. But still was met with 20% off and "our fish was delivered on Wednesday" ( it is now Friday). Long story short. If you like good sushi, not getting sick, and generally decent business practices, please go elsewhere. I don't know how it is acceptable to serve old food and make people feel ill and offer no apology or resolve, only argument.
Ran in on a humbug, something smelled very nice walking to my car. saw a yoiung lady get in her car with takeout from Ru San's. I threw up the thumbs up to get her opinion and i got the thumbs up and the window roll.she yelled out the chicken fried rice was nice. Ok, went in and nobody seated, a few takeout orders. nice place, old school traditional. Wow the food, first the chicken fried rice is amazing nice portion, had plenty to bring home.(see pic) great sushi, great salmon. great service, told them it was our first time. very welcome atmosphere. Well worth the drive.
This Ru San's is solid. My friend Dylan and I meet up here when we want a good meal and some sake. Prices are good, and the weeknight wait staff is awesome (they have that pleasant Japanese vibe of being polite and attentive without being overbearing).
Great menu - many great Japanese items to choose from and cooked authentically. The saki bomb special for Fri and Sat is good price. Good suchi and sashimi menu. Great service by our server very nice and attentive. Will definitely come here again.
Sushi was very good! Service was a bit slow but they were very busy that day. Portions are quite large for dinner so bring an appetite. Would recommend the protein power sushi, ramen, and seafood fried rice.
This place used to be awesome ,however since the pandemic. They have noticeably increased their prices while shorting you on ingredients. I usually get the seafood fried rice. Which has went up 2 dollars. I get we are in a pandemic. But I’ve come here for years. And see the drastic change. They give you three shrimp and one tiny piece of calamari. Which is way less portion than I had when I ordered 3 weeks ago. They are super inconsistent. The seafood in the rice were so tiny I could barely notice I had “seafood” fried rice. I genuinely thought they had forgot to put them in there. so i politely told the lady who was handling to go orders that I think they gave me regular house rice. And she proceeded to play in my food trying to find the tiny pieces of meat. Without gloves. Unprofessionalism at its finest. Plus she was rude and told me nothing was wrong while walking away.
Great food, honestly it really is, my girlfriend and I come here at least once a month because everything from their steamed gyoza, fried rice, and rolls are amazing. Never had a problem getting a table however, they are busy Saturdays so expect a slight wait. The only problem I have had and why I gave it 4 stars is because multiple times they have brought me my food/ appetizer, but do not bring me chopsticks or silverware. So I just sit there and wait for a server to walk by to ask for a utensil which is slightly annoying. It does not bother me to much so definitely try this place if you want amazing sushi for a great price. You can get 2 rolls, a appetizer and fried rice for $30.
