I attended this facility around 2pm on a Thursday, they have a rotating menu by day. Moderately busy, only a few tables available. My husband and I have attended this restaurant a few times after going to HobbyTown USA down the strip, and I liked it so much I brought my father here. The staff is always friendly, and accomodating. They have a nice variety of vegetables and fruits in addition to the typical southern restaurant suspects: fried chicken, baked chicken, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, collard greens, biscuits and of course the namesake fried green tomatoes.
I have been to this establisment one other time this year. However, today I was meeting with my daughter at 3 pm. It was very hot out and we needed about 20 minutes. So we went inside the restaurant and ordered a soda. The hostess said we could sit down. The place was pratically empty. Then a very rude server by the name of Shay told us we had to leave!!! She was extremly unpleasant even when we explained we were purchasing beverage's. She said she didn't care and that we were only allowed to sit if we ordered the buffet. We were literally kicked out and we asked for a refund on our beverages which she threw out n never gave to us as we waited another 5 minutes to get a refund of the drink! I WILL NEVER PATRONIZE THEM AGAIN> SHE INSULTED US AND CLAIMED SHE WAS THE MANAGER!
I mean it’s definitely food. Focusing only on the food , I would say that this place is extremely middle of the road with minimal flavors. The food is not bad but it DEFINITELY is not good. Underwhelming taste all across the board. This place makes Golden Corral look pretty good. Skip it . There’s nothing to gain by going here . Iron Age is down the street and so is Golden Corral. Go elsewhere.
A very nice southern buffet. If you like southern food this is your place! Was a nice find.I really love their fried green tomatoes, fried chicken, and mac and cheese. They do banana pudding good too and had a really good corn chowder.Great place to enjoy company and get lots of food. Lots of fried foods but that did have salad and vegetables too for those wanting a lighter option.
The vast numbers of menu items to choose from, the tasty and well prepared foods. The cleanliness of the restaurant food bar and the friendly professional staff make this a great experience, the buffet trays keep getting replenished and kept warm. Been there many times over the years. Have not had a bad experience!
This is the second location of Fried Tomato Buffet we have dined at. We prefer this location. Very clean restaurant. The chicken was very good. There was a little more variety at this location. Will return to when in the area.
I've never went to this restaurant once and the food was bad. I really enjoy eating here and even though I'm not a local I don't mind traveling the extra miles to eat the food. So with that being said for any of you that at least stays 45 minutes to an hour out, the drive is well worth it. You can see the countryside or other places, but the fried green tomato, please make that your stop. Enjoy. They also put out gloves for when you fix your food.. so thoughtfull.
Second time visiting this restaurant and it sooooo GOOD! The best comfort food restaurant in town. We tried fried chicken, fried green tomato (the best), hush puppies, fried shrimp. Everything was cooked perfectly and so flavorful. They have come a long way from when they started.
Came here on a Saturday. It was fairly busy. $12.99 for the buffet, drink included. Quality of food was very good. Good variety, nice salad buffet options with tuna salad and chicken salad. Food was hot and fresh. Service was great. Wood definitely return.
Went and got 2 to go plates for my husband and I. Paid $53.05 and when I got home the food was horrible. The chicken was so greasy you couldn't eat it, the vegetables (greens, corn, green beans etc.) Had no taste to them, they were not good at all. Also, made us both a little salad and the ranch dressing tasted sour. Even the desert was nasty. I called and spoke to the manager and he obviously did NOT care. Never will I go back here.
