Better than I thought it would be. We made a recent trip to Mobile just to get good seafood. This was actually better ? than our experience at Wintzell's Oyster House. Oysters, shrimp and catfish were all good. Hush puppies were ok, okra was good,Fries were limp, cheese grits were ok.Service was very good. We'll go back.
I had a long time to think about this review, or even leaving one at all. I don’tUsually write negative reviews. I’m hoping they read it. The food is spot on delicious! Perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked. Fried shrimp takes second place to no-one! Huge, plump, juicy shrimp! Love the coleslaw. The grits are delicious! Which leads me to my negative experience I wanted take out. I called and got a message saying they’re not taking call aheads, so I had to go down. Not too far. I knew I’d have to wait, but I wanted those shrimp! Nikki was friendly, as always. Took my order, well, the best she could. They were out of the potatoes that I wanted. Out of Mac and cheese too. So I got the grits. Also heard they were out of cheesecake. 6:30.... kind of early to be out of such staple items. She told me it would be 20 minutes. 45 minutes later, I had my food. Oh. They also had no register tape. Better planning would go a long way here. Please be more prepared. I’ll give it another shot, but I’ll wait a bit
So Let’s start off saying we loved this place till today incident. I called to place a order before I drove 30 mins to this location and the voicemail said you have to come inside to place a TOGO order . So I stand there 10 mins to be told we can’t take your TOGO order . Gas prices isn’t cheap to be wasting . We will no longer eat at this business again PERIOD !!!! Don’t waste your time coming somewhere that turns people away . When they are in the wrong for not leaving that recording on their voicemail.
Catfish, shrimp were hot and delicious. The hushpuppies were southern seasoned. Great service clean dining area. Can't wait for my next visit. We were visiting from Canton, GA.
We ate there 4/15/22 and noticed wait staff all over the place. Management needs to assign tables in same area for wait staff. Some of our items were cold. Some overcooked. All cooked in old oil. Hopefully management will take my advice and make changes. I’ll check back in a few months and hope I find a better experience.
The food was superb. I had the fried whole catfish, onion rings and salad. It was delicious. Qwen was our server and she was outstanding, and very attentive. She gets 5 stars as well.
My friends and I had a great time. The food was fantastic. Our waitress Brenda was wonderful. They were busy but when they said 20 min to sit we sat sooner. Thanks it was super good
Our first visit here restaurant fully seated extremely busy so we ordered seafood platter to go approx 4:45pm was a 30 minute wait to receive one plate go order - when arrived at our destination the platter was missing the fish! Called there about this and said to come back over for it - did the additional trip for one piece of missing fish to capture the expense (est.$5-$7 overpriced for amount of food on platter) of the platter now with additional trip there to have complete order - had to stand there waiting for it - no offer of any thing for the go order disaster food ? excellent - service thumbs down on go orders
We have eaten here 3 times in the last two weeks & it is so good! One visit was last Friday night 6 adults with a range of orders all were happy & enjoyed their meal. We had prime rib, shrimp, fried grouper, whole fried flounder, & the catfish fillet dinner. We all had to share a bite as everything was so fresh & tasty. Can't wait to have it again!
Overpriced! Fish was mushy! We ordered the blackened and fried. The shrimp was gummy! The scallops were slimy! They charge a card fee for $100 meal??? The corn was disgusting. Tasted like it was cooked a couple of days ago and then reheated and served. Nothing had any flavor other than the blackened food. I wanted to enjoy this place but couldn’t. The seafood is definitely frozen and NOT FRESH. Can’t believe the reviews of people saying “Alaskan white fish” is fresh..... cmon people....Definitely will not be coming back.
