The sushi had an awful taste and was not rolled tight it fell apart which I could of tolerated if everything didn't taste rotten the Miso soup had the same flavor it's like they took the rotten sushi and made a broth out of it the vegetables in the Hibachi were so cooked they were nothing but mush the steak tips were so over done cooked I couldn't even stab them with a fork I don't even know why they asked for a temp. I'm not one to post or give reviews but this definitely deserved one it was the most horrible food I think I ever ate I can't believe I spent money on It

We originally ordered two chicken katsu Bento Boxes Togo and we were given steak bento boxes by accident. We called to see if we could at least get some chicken and we were told there was nothing that could be done about it because that’s what we ordered and paid for. This is unfortunate because we love Mr.Teriyaki and have ate here multiple times. I wish they at least apologized for the mistake being made.

Felt rushed to order because the waiter WAITED, rather than return later. Was not very patient to answer questions about menu items.Lunch menu not clear about sushi options.Steak was served a little dry and tough with grissle.Had to ask fir water rather than ask us what beverages we wanted first while waiting to decide what we wanted.Waiter was not available when we needed special requests. The rest of the food we were served was great!

The salad not acceptable. It wasn't even a handful of salad and the lettuce was old. The ginger dressing tasted good. The food presentation wasnt anything to be impressed by, but I thought the hibachi chicken and vegetables were a out what you'd expect from a decent Japanese place. Overall, I buy again, except for the salad. Price was $13 for hibachi+double vegetables, salad, extra chicken.

I literally never leave bad reviews because I worked in the service industry including at restaurants, so I empathize, but this was absolutely deplorable and if I managed here, this person would be unemployed. What tipped it over the edge for me was the server telling me to “never order here again, we are good, we don’t need your business.” We called in for a pick up order, and it was missing an app. Turns out there was a miscommunication and the app was left off the order, but instead of simply telling me that was the case, this server flew off the handle at me, gaslit me. told me he doesn’t need our business, and hung up on me. When I called back to speak with a manager, the call was sent to voicemail. So, my only recourse is to leave this review. We will be heeding this server’s advice and never ordering here again, and making sure no one we know does either. The fact is, whoever was wrong, NO ONE deserves to be treated the way I just was on the phone by this server. Having been verbally abused by MANY customers when I was waiting tables, I NEVER treated anyone this way…ever! No matter how bad my customers got!Reply to response: Ah yes, and thus we know why we will never return—turning it around yet again. The response of the business speaks for itself. Also, yes, it WAS ordered…just because it wasn’t heard and/or written down does NOT mean it was NOT ordered. I’ll make sure to get an exact recitation of my order from every server in the future anywhere we eat—lesson learned. Regardless, again, the employee initiated the yelling and interrupting…not me. The appropriate way to handle this was simply stating that the employee must not have heard me correctly, not outright denying it ever happened. I’m not looking for handouts here, just calm and reasonable communication—ya know, human decency. Too much to expect from this place, apparently…and the other reviews make it clear this is routine here.

Sub par food at best with portion and roll sizes that seem like the whole menu is the kids menu. 30 bucks and we got about half a dinner of food for 2 people, nothing better than making dinner after dinner.Hibachi "fried rice" was white rice with soy sauce, the shrimp tempura rolls are just rubbery shrimp wrapped in rice, nothing interesting just chewy rice and shrimp with...soy sauce on top. The yakitori skewers seem like they are just thawed chicken chunks from the hibatchi station heated up and sauced. Not a grill mark to be seen (chewy like it was microwaved it was horrific). If you want good sushi rolls the Kroger in the same lot is way better quality and price and come to think of it their chicken is likely better too, call it heavy tempura. Not worth the time, money or gas to get food here. Airport kiosks put this place to shame.

Love the Scallops they are great!

Extremely slow service. 3 people at our table. Only had 45 minutes and after ordering and waiting 30 minutes told the server we had to leave soon. Food finally came out, cold. Had to ask for refills and got charged for those. Spoke with the manager. She said she was sorry and would fix the drinks. Excuse for the long wait was the lunch rush. They had 8 empty tables but only had 2 servers. That was not a rush. Won’t go to this location again

This restaurant was recommended to us for lunch so last week we tried it. We got a take out order and it was over 30 minutes to get a steak Bento Box and steak and shrimp Habachi with fried rice. There were very few vegetables, the “fried rice” was nothing more than white rice with soy sauce poured over it. The meat and shrimp was cooked well so I gave it 2 stars. Will not be going back.

I rarely go to Gainesville and eat asian food, however I found myself at Mr. Teriyaki just the other day. I've had my fair share of hibachi style restaurants in my life, and I have to admit the food was amazing. Even though there's no hibachi cooking show, Mr. Teriyaki makes it up with their impeccable service and the cleanliness of the restaurant. Mr. Teriyaki does it right and I will be a returning customer. A++
