Five star all around. Nice guy Jason which was the bar tender and did a wonderful job, nice conversation and took care of the bar well. Will visit again on my next visit from Costa Rica! Overall helpful! Will visit again soon Jason gets a 5 star!!! Nice place for an afternoon visit with friends.
This restaurant is under new ownership and it is soooo much improved. The menu is very different and offers some unique fare. The fried green tomatoes are awesome! Nice drink menu and there’s something for everyone. We didn’t have to wait and everything was served hot. Check it out and you will be pleased!

Went today for lunch arrived at 12:10 and was greeted and sat immediately. There were two tables taken one with 6 and another with 3. My granddaughter ordered a Paloma and I ordered a Sea Breeze. One hour later I noticed other tables were getting served their drinks and they had arrived after us. I asked our server if we could get our drinks. She said the bartender will make them when he gets ready. I mentioned other tables were getting drinks that had arrived after us and was wondering if there was an issue with the order. Thinking it might not have been put in or got lost. She repeated that he makes drinks in no order and we would get ours when he got ready to make it. Not wanting to cause a scene, I sat there quite dumbfounded. What a strange reply. After one hour and 15 minutes we did get our drinks and one hour and 30 minutes our food. The food was very good and the drinks were good. Just so confused with the response. I did leave a normal tip but will probably not go back.
Heard they had new owners and a new menu and had to stop by and check it out. Food and service was great. My burger was cooked perfectly. So glad to have another place on the square to go!
Went tonight for the first time and the food was amazing. Those fried green tomatoes are to die for!! I also ordered the Chop Block margarita….fantastic!! I also tried the spicy Bloody Mary….it was “eh” at best. Felt like it was way too simple and not much to it. I was expecting something else, I guess. Something more to it. It was too plain Jane if you will. Especially for the price and size of it. Other than that, this place is great!
What a pleasant experience! This restaurant has come a long way from where it began, we had stopped coming due to not so great experiences in the past, but since under new ownership, we decided to give it another try. I am so glad we did, because to our surprise the food was delicious and the atmosphere was actually enjoyable. Our server Anna was PHENOMENAL, she was so attentive and an absolute pleasure!Keep up the good work ChopBlock!
Discovered this place about two months ago and have been coming here weekly since! I’ll start with the establishment, it’s clean, fun, with great entertainment almost every night! Servers are always attentive and quick with drinks. However, THE FOOD is why you need to try this place out! I’ve tried almost everything and each is better than the last. It’s always served hot and delicious, kitchen must have a GREAT rhythm, it’s always a perfect 10/10 each time we grab a bite here! Definitely the gem of Gainesville. I love this place!
Terrible. We are Gainesville natives and were looking forward to trying this spot. We will definitely not be going back. The food was just... bad. I got the pimento cheese sandwich and tater tots. The pimento cheese looked like Velveeta, and the tots never came (they gave me fries instead). I asked three times for them, and was told "I'll get them...", then "They're on the way", then "I'm sorry, but the kitchen is backed up". (Even though it was only 5:00 on a Friday). My wife got a grilled chicken wrap but there was so much gristle in the chicken that she couldn't eat it. And the draft beer selection was poor as well. Please, have a porter or stout on draft! (oh, and did I mention that the food was slow in coming out?)There are too many other good places in Gainesville to go to... We won't be returning here.
