Love this place! Such a great mix for sushi lovers and tex-mex lovers. Anything you order is going to be delicious, but the fried asparagus is a must try for an appetizer!! We had a large party attend on May 21st for a birthday dinner & our waitress Charolette was phenomenal! She was very accommodating and checked on us frequently for refills and drink orders! Thank you Evans Tako Sushi for letting us make a reservation! It was a great experience!
Went to Evans location and it just so happened to be happy hour so ordered off that menu. My drink was very good and loved the asparagus tempura. This place has Japanese and Mexican food items. Nice environment, somewhat hidden?? I followed GPS and thought it was taking me to someone's house ? ?. It has indoor and outdoor seating nice wait staff. I will go back to try some Tacos next time. ? would have given 5 stars if didn't have to find waitress a couple of times and if she knew how to explain what was on the menu. Also was over charged. But they fixed it no problem.
Stick with the sushi. I have been very disappointed with the "west" menu. Shrimp tacos were bad. Not tempura fried, more like panko bread crumb coating. Two shrimp on tortilla, sprinkled with cheese. The cheese made the shrimp coating soggy, and the tortillas were limp and damp. The queso was just ok. I've tried the burger, too, so I've given it a fair shot. I'd go back for sushi, but I'd skip the (non-tempura) fried asparagus.
Evans, GaService was extremely slow and it took about 45 minutes from us sitting down to being able to actually order. I did order the Tako burger but in a wrap. It was literally raw ground beef. I asked for medium so I don’t know what happened. We are not eating her again ?
Food was delicious! Our waitress was awesome. Great place. Will definitely be back.
This place has been one of our favorite places in the area. But in the last year it has been so hit or miss...in the same meal. Today we waited 15 minutes before being waited on (after getting immediately seated). The asparagus was great as always. My husband was really looking forward To the burger which has always been good. But he asked for medium well and instead it came back burnt on the outside and rare on the inside. The waiter just said sorry. Covid has made food service hard. I get it. But customer service and food quality always have to be great for us to continue going, especially when food is pricier.
This is one of my favorite sushi spots in the CSRA! Really love the southwest Tex-Mex type fusion they have on their menu. This makes it easier to dine with friends and family that don’t particularly enjoy sushi. Although if they are new to the sushi experience this would be a great place to take them so they can explore the different options they have. I once brought a friend who didn’t like sushi here and they tried a flash fried breaded sushi roll to start with and loved it. From then on they continued to venture to the other rolls and now they love sushi! They do offer outdoor seating and have another location in Augusta that is a little smaller but still very good. Definitely give this place a try if your in the mood for sushi, nachos, taquitos or even a good burger. Another one of my favorite appetizers is their tempura Asparagus.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Food there is really good but their sushi is the BEST! They have fried asparagus with their spicy Mayo and it’s soooo good! Their queso with chorizo dip is soooo good! Definitely my go to place every week!
It's Takosushi. Just about anything you pick from the menu is going to be good. I usually get the tempora asparagus as an appetizer, and whatever they have on the specialty menu. I had smoked scallop tacos....very delicious. One caveat however, this is not a Japanese restaurant; therefore, you should manage your expectations when it comes to the sushi.
So this is still the best sushi in town. I know it’s a chain, but I have yet to be dissatisfied. There are two, one in surrey center and this one, off Belair, which is, I think is the better of the two. And if you are like me, not a very big sushi person at first, but they sold me when they let you fry the whole roll. That was my way of easing into it, now I eat it normally. I love the fried asparagus that, I think the sauce on top makes it a great bite, and it’s always crispy. The potstickers are great as well. For sushi, I’m a fan of the Kevin roll. The crispy shrimp in the center helps provide crunch to sushi which I enjoy. They have a lot to choose from so try them all. As far as the “taco” part of the house, it’s a southwestern style not traditional Mexican. Which is good, but I’m a traditionalist, but it was still good. Had taquitos, and they were good and a great option when you have that one friend who doesn’t eat seafood but goes with you to a sushi place…lol. I would definitely recommend this place for good sushi.
