We just returned from 2 weeks in Greece and fell in love with the food. We visited Rose & Olives to compare with what we had there. Let me say, we were not disappointed. The flavor was wonderful. The tenderloin was tender and cooked to perfection. We also had the dolmatos and the appetizer sampler. It was just like we were back in Greece. Rose and Olives is one of our favorite dinner places. It is clean and welcoming. It is great for lunch too. The service is perfect and if you don't know what to order, staff can make a great recommendation. We highly recommend Rose & Olive for a quiet date night, family gathering or a group of friends. Hope to see you there soon.
Having driven past this spot countless times, we decided to finally give them a try. We were not disappointed. We started off with the Kash-o-badanjoon, which is a roasted eggplant dish, similar to Baba ghanoush, and made with garlic, crispy onions and mint. It was delicious! We tried the soup of the day which was lentil and it was some of the best lentil soup we've had (and we've had a lot!). Lots of options for vegetarians too. The Fattoush salad and the falafel wrap combo were both tasty. The service from the manager and our server, Dev was excellent. We will definitely be back.
This place is amazing! The food was incredible and the service was great! We asked Ali for suggestions and he helped us. We had Kash-o-Badanjoon as an appetizer and I had Sherin Polo. Amazing!
NOTE: We're biased as we are originally from Metro Detroit, having eaten at many Mediterranean restaurants, and have friends how own and/or cook at restaurants. We were in metro Atlanta and had chosen this place based on online reviews as we really miss good Mediterranean food. The hummus was tasty, though it was an unusual color (our guess was that that they added sumac). It does not show up clearly in the picture but it was pink. Our server was wonderful, friendly and attentive throughout the meal. We're used to Mediterranean meals being served with multiple baskets of complementary fresh baked pita bread and sides of toum. Our server did not even seem to know what toum was and the pita bread seemed to be considered a highly precious commodity; we did not see the typical wood fired oven to bake pita bread.. Also, oddly, there was no bottle of olive oil on the table.I did not see ANY kibbeh on the menu; While it's not unheard of to not see kibbeh nayeh because there needs to be significant client demand to prevent waste, we did expect to see baked kibbeh and were disappointed it was not available. The lentil soup was different from any I have ever had before. While tasty, it was based on a much stronger broth than I expected. The Avgolemono was disappointing. Also missing was shish tawook and shawarma (two of our favorites)For the main course we went with (chicken & lamb) kabobs and gyros. The rice seemed very unusual with no vermicelli and topped with something yellow (visible in pictures on their web site). Seemed to be a little less flavor than we expected. I forgot to take pictures of the entrees but they are visible on their web site. The lamb kabob was very tasty and the chicken was good as well. The gyros meat was tasty. The overall portions were MUCH smaller than we generally expect, both the appetizer and the entrees. As a result we ordered dessert. The baklava was tasty, though it had far more cinnamon than expected and I'd suggest requesting them to leave off both the chocolate sauce and powdered sugar. The cannoli cream was good, though the filling was not all the way though, just on the ends (and the topping). I'm not a fan of chocolate chips but my wife, who ordered it, liked them. So, overall, it was a good meal, though a bit unusual. Price was about what we expected, but, as mentioned, the portions were a little small and the lack of baskets of fresh pita bread was disappointing. Service was great, food was fresh, restaurant was clean.
Food is very good, and the service is excellent! Very welcoming. We asked Ali to help us to choose and he was spot on. As appetizer we had Kash-o-Badanjoon, amazing! For entree I got a Chicken Barg Kabob which was very tasty as well!!
Post Ash Wednesday service dinner. This place has been on our list for a while to try out and for some reason always forget about it. Not tonight. Great food, great service, chill dining environment. We started out with the combo platter. All the dips were homemade and fresh as was the seasoned pita that came with them. We followed this with a Greek salad and then split chicken kabobs with super fluffy rice and a supreme gyro wrap. All items were fresh, tasty and given to you in portion sizes that only a hippo would complain about. Nice to know that this spot is only a few minutes drive from the house. We will be back.
The Shrimp Risotto was amazing. We also had Gyro platters which were really good. We will definitely add this to our list of regular places to eat in the area. Oh, and the service was also outstanding.
Let's chat about this restaurant. The food was great, no complaints. Very tasty, good amount of food for the price. There was an issue of no substitutions even after offering to pay more, which was apparently still not allowed. Then the salad came ON the plate with the hot food and drenched in dressing which went all over the rest of the food. Not ideal, just not really what I wanted. The atmosphere was diner-y, could have been a bit more nicely lit than the stark white lightbulbs, but not a huge deal. Our server did forget our appetizers entirely, which happens when you don't write down anyone's order.... This is definitely run like a family restaurant, because it is.I would go back again, but perhaps set my expectations a bit lower and simply just enjoy the food.
I had an excellent experience here tonight. The atmosphere is casual, and the food tasted fresh and well-made. All food ordered was prepared in a timely manner too. What took this from a good experience to an excellent one was our server, Andre. He was very friendly and helpful throughout our dining experience. He made solid recommendations and went out of his way to ensure that my girlfriend's dietary restrictions were adhered to. He genuinely wanted to provide a great experience for us. It's very rare to find this kind of service in the restaurant industry - especially these days. Kudos to Andre and the Rose & Olives team!
Can’t say enough about the excellent food and service at Rose and Olives. Our server, Andre, was exceptional - so personable and helpful. The restaurant is very clean and inviting and the food (lots of choices) is fresh and delicious. We will definitely be back.
