This place has become too expensive. They raised prices by more than 30%. I get that there is inflation but this is too much. The quality is not better and portions are smaller. They don’t honor the prices on the menu so make sure you check the prices before you order. My family won’t be eating here anymore. The owners are just money crazy. These types of businesses need to go out of business so that inflation stabilizes.
Excellent Korean/Chinese restaurants in Duluth. Delicious food and friendly staff. Thanks for having me!
It really hurts me to leave this review because I really love two items off their menu even tho the consistency is garbage. Soup is over priced but comes with nothing, strong Korean flavors although they market themselves as Chinese. Just another Korean fusion restaurant masquerading as a Chinese restaurant. 80 dollars for shrimp fried rice, tough Mongolian beef, and cold sesame Chicken. Also the lady is super weird and needy. We can put our card on the reader just by ourselves, I guess that needs a reason to fleece us for more money. This is absolutely a place to avoid. You will be pressured to tip always, just like it was delivered to you. I would pay anything for good Chinese food, let's just be honest.
I am super picky about my ping pow meow meow and I have to admit Chef Wongs is the best I have ever had. I get the fried dumplings and pork fried rice once a week. The pork fried rice is an explosion of flavor compared to the bland frozen vegetable burnt soy sauce everyone else serves...Chef Wongs is one of few places that takes pride in feeding happy people you can tell it was made with love and I would recommend this place to anyone who has to have ping pow night regularly. LOVE THIS PLACE....
Chef Wong has been hubby family favorite Korean Chinese restaurant for the longest. I never went with them because I thought all they served were jajangmyun or jjambong. I decided to give this place a try for once after hubby begged me. I hated myself for rejecting this place for so long. The people that work here are amazing. I’ve been back twice with hubby and both time was the same lady; she’s amazing!!! Hubby told me she always takes care of them when he’s here with his family also. To the person that gave this place a one star because they didn’t give you back your $16 change in a 84 tab; go short yourself. I love all the food hubby ordered and I love my waitress so much I gave her a $30 tips on a $90 tab and I believe she deserves more. Until next time!!! Peace
We got there around 8pmThe service was great. The food tasted great. We got the mongolian beef, mapa tofu, sweet n sour pork, jjajjang myun and jjampong..Everything tasted good. For kids i highly recommend jjanjjang myun.Mapa tofu was my favorite.. Cant go wrong with mapa tofu..A must try..
- Came for lunch, we were directed to pick our own table and was served right away. They brought out yellow pickled radish and another Korean radish appetizer to start with and a jug of water so we can refill it ourselves. It was a mixture of Chinese and Korean on the menu. It was family style dishes we opted for, so we got:- Salt and pepper shrimp: 7/10. Not bad, pretty tasty.- Mala beef: 8/10. Tender, flavorful, and spicy!- Egg drop soup: 10/10. Probably the best egg drop soup I’ve tasted. Most places, this soup tastes like water but this actually had substance and great flavor. Egg and green onions were plentiful.Overall rating 4/5 stars. Would definitely come back to try other dishes!
They reused the rice.Sweet n sour pork was dry.Not like what it use to be.
The portion size was good, the flavor was acceptable, but the noodle seemed a little mushy.
They serve up really good food here for reasonable prices. Try the Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup with Mussels. I absolutely love spicy food, and for my palate, it was very well put together with some nice complexity. Not too overpowering, so the flavors of the baby octopus, shrimp, and mussels could come through. Quite nice. I will definitely be back to try something else.
