The food is always amazing, I can't remember a single time I have ever been disappointed here. The service is incredible as well. I'll be continuing to come here for as long as I love in Douglasville.
I used this restaurant for catering for my housewarming. The customer service was very good, and the delivery was prompt. I’d love to say the food was equally good, but it didn’t receive a great reception from my guests. The consensus was overwhelmingly that the beef was dry, the Mac and cheese was bland and soupy. The chicken was okay, but not very tender or flavorful. There were two large cups of baked beans which were decent, but one contained pork which was not disclosed when I placed the catering ( I don’t think that was disclosed on the website). We ate some, but I ended up going back out to get wings. Overall not a terrible experience, but pretty disappointed to be honest. I don’t think we’ll use them again.
Hudson is a very family friendly restaurant. It is set up as seat yourself, and we have always found seating. There is always a happy crowd. It is authentic BBQ. the menu is limited, and the sides are mediocre, made off site (it seems). The most glowing quality is the staff. To the person, they are friendly, patient and eager in their roles. I strongly recommend Hudsons, bring the kids!
It took quite a while before a waitress came to our table but we were still excited because it smelled great outside. It did not take long however once our food had arrived for the excitement to die. The pulled pork did not have much flavor at all unless you dug through it and found an outside piece. The ribs were kind of dry as if they had not been allowed to rest before being cut. My girlfriend said her chicken was extremely bland as was the other food I took her word for it after my pulled pork and my friends ribs. I have a feeling they know that things are on a downward slide there because at no point where we asked if we enjoyed our food or how it was. Most of the people eating were elderly which led us to wonder if they eat their out of habit because they have been for the last however many years.
Loved the grilled pork cheese sandwich. And fried green beans. Was disappointed at the Brunswick stew though. Wasn't expecting it to be like canned poss Brunswick stew. Other than that, good place with some good sweet tea
Best BBQ around. Best good an service. Locally owned. I grew up eating here. Even while in my mommy tummy! Me mom and grandmother often had lunches here traditionally. A wonderful restaurant for families and for life
Needing food quickly on date night, we stopped here to grab a bite to eat. We ordered Hickory Fries with Beef for an appetizer. I ordered the Pork Plate. My wife ordered Super Salad with Smoked Chicken. Everything came out quickly and the plates were overflowing. Great flavor on the Barbecue. We will definitely return in the future. This location is highly recommended!
Came to Hudsons Wednesday April 13th for late lunch. I have been a customer for over 35 years. I ordered a pork plate, with bark, fires and sweet tea. I regularly order this meal. When they brought my meal, it was cold, so I asked the waitress, if she could ask them to warm it. She said she would get me a new plate. Which she did. When the second meal came, the port was luke warm at best and the pork bark was not edible. Tough, like rawhide. Not chewable. I ate two forks full and a few fries and I could not eat any more of it. When I arrived, there were four Army guys at a table having lunch. I told the waitress to bring me their check and she did. A total of $47 and change. So when I went to pay out, the cashier ask how was my meal. I told the cashier “Granny Woman” (she knows me). That in 35 years, I had never had a bad meal at Hudson’s, until this meal. Her response was to tell me that they could get me something else. I told her no, that I was done. After which I paid for the soldiers food and she charged me $13 and change for my meal. Which I added a $3 tip to my check? Because the service was excellent as always. Buford needs to see this, as whoever he had running the kitchen that day? Was sub par at best. Because the meal was terrible.
