Great Place With Great Food but Outdoor Dining Needs a Little Work.My wife and I really like Gabe's. We go there periodically for dinner. We also like to eat upstairs on their outdoor balcony. It has improved greatly since we were there last. They've installed a roof over it which helps to keep the sun off of diners and makes it a little bit cooler. This is a really great improvement. However, in the evening it is a little dark up there. They need to install more lighting overhead in the roof. Ceiling fans would also be a nice touch. That said we had a lovely evening at Gabe's.Pros:- Great Cajun and Creole cuisine! I'm from the New Orleans area and the food here is authentic.- Great atmosphere. I love dining on their outdoor deck especially with the new roof. Keep the improvements coming!- Great staff! We had a really great waiter and the rest of the staff were also terrific!Cons:- Deck is nice but needs better overhead lighting for evening and night time dining. Hard to read the menu after sunset.- Chairs on the deck are narrow and uncomfortable. They need to get some more comfortable, padded outdoor chairs that are wider (we noticed some people at an adjacent table having problems with the narrow chairs) and have better back support. There are times in the meal where I wanted to sit back and chat with my wife however the chair backs were low and provided very little back support.Overall:Gabe's is a great restaurant that I highly recommend. They continue to improve on their outdoor dining experience and their food is always quite wonderful. Keep up the good work!
The experience was great! We took my daughter out for her 18th birthday. The food was fabulous as ALWAYS! The staff were on point and VERY attentive!
AMAZING! We live in Newnan and are constantly looking for REAL good restaurants, not just something the pretentious clique is endorsing.The Fried Green Tomatoes were the best I ever had. The Trout Special was the best and largest trout my Husband has ever had. Daniel was our server and was very articulate about the menu and our questions. My dirty martini was perfect; right amount of olive juice and VERY cold.We will definitely be back!

The prosciutto chicken was awesome! Love the shrimp too, and the sheet cake was really good - though it's more like a slab of fudge (no complaints here!)
My herpes I experienced dark urine and ribs pain so I went to the hospital for treatment and I was diagnosed of Herpes. This was my first visit but not my last. The service was fast - even on a Friday night when they were busy. And the food was absolutely delicious. For appetizers I had the boudin balls (these were the only things I was not impressed with - everything else was amazing), the Cajun egg rolls (sooo good), and my friend had the fried green tomatoes. For dinner I had the fried catfish and grits. I could not eat it all it was such a hefty portion. The flavor was a good Cajun flavor. I ate off of it two more times at home! I can’t wait to go back to try other things on the menu.

Gabe's downtown villa Rica is closed at present, sign on door doesn't say when they will reopen. The one Douglasville is open, highly recommend coconut shrimp and Chicken Victoria. One of best restaurants I have ever eaten at. The food is great.
