I've eaten here plenty of times and love the food and price but today was disappointed in the service.we were sitting outside and it was tough to eat with the amount of flies. Also, the prices online are not consistent with what was charged. I do really enjoy the food though.
Where to start?Sushi Avenue is AMAZING.The food, staff, location everything is excellent.Me and my husband have been coming here for 3 years now and have never been let down. I have tried many many sushi restaurants but this one is by far the best. My husband and I always order the Volcano, A roll, B roll and Georgia roll but of course will branch out once and a while. The waitress/servers here are so kind and helpful, they go above and beyond for their customers and it shows. Please don’t hesitate to try this amazing restaurant you won’t be let down!
Real fresh food, cooked to order. Soup with avocado and Soba gluten free noodles was epically simple. Beautiful broth. Teriyaki salmon, Colette's favorite is "real food". Simple salad with ginger dressing is refreshing. You should stroll down this Avenue!

I ordered Salmon Oyako chirashi last night. Came home and found the salmon but no salmon roe. When I called them today to ask about it, I was told that the owner decided not to put salmon roe on this dish any more because one customer complained about the amount of salmon roe she got on her order. How can you call a dish "salmon oyako" if there is no salmon roe? And how can you still charge the same price ($22.00) for a dish that is missing one of the main ingredients? I was told that the salmon roe was more for "decoration", and was not really one of the main ingredients. I never heard of such thing. If you look up "salmon oyako chirashi" online, ALL of the recipes or restaurant photos (INCLUDING Sushi Avenue's photo) have salmon roe. The girl that took my call tonight said I was the only person who has had an issue with this. Wow. 信じられない! It's a shame that this restaurant has gone so far downhill since the original owners left. I'm sure they would be appalled at this service, lack of professionalism and poor excuse for omitting a main ingredient in one of their dishes. AND still charging the same price. 恥ずかしくない？？
I enjoy this place for Sashimi, especially the salmon. I usually sit at the sushi bar and have a great show during my meal. Definitely fresh fish and talented chefs. Rice is perfect!
One of my favorite places when I'm looking for sushi or other Japanese food. They have a good selection of vegetarian options across their menu. The staff are always really helpful. It's not the most romantic or well designed place, but it's made up for in the food and service they provide.
Two locations in Decatur. Very nice restaurant at either locations. Great food and Staff. I eat there all the time and at both locations. Great Japanese menu to choose from

Excellent neighborhood sushi and other Japanese dishes, as well as authentic warm and cold Japanese drinks. Not quite the flair and originality of nearby Brush, but always a solid choice. Pleasant chefs and servers, additional outdoor tables compared to earlier years, and very safe COVID precautions including masked sushi chefs and waitstaff. Always feels warm and welcoming for a quick bite at the sushi bar or settling in for a longer meal.May occasionally be out of specific fish such as ikura or toro, but there's always something to please. Absolutely recommended.
