Woke up for brunch and was walking around Decatur and found this. Everything was perfect. Bloody Mary's were regular bottled mix, but can't complain as long as you have vodka. The food was delicious. Got the corned beef hash, fried green tomatoes, and the open faced chicken and biscuit.
I met a sorority sister for breakfast. I ordered the crab cakes benedict and substituted the tomato for fried green tomatoes. The food was good. I appreciate that it seems that all components seemed homemade. I also appreciate they buttered the English muffin. My friend ordered the French toast. She said it was really good but custardy. I mean, I like mine that way and was a little upset that I hadn't ordered that to go with mine. Next time.I also had a mimosa. Now. When I make them at home I only use a hint of whatever juice I'm using. Something like a fine mist, maybe a drop just to say it's in there. The mimosa at Folk Art did not disappoint. They have several flavor options so, you know, try em all (within your limit).I'll certainly visit this restaurant again.Parking: There is paid 2-hour limit parking right around the corner. Be sure to take your ticket with you and ask if the restaurant validates.
We had high hopes for this restaurant. The menu looks great and offers a lot of variety. The menu just have been art cause the meal was just elementary. The decor is just that folksy and art. The food arrived room temp. The grits fritters were supposed to have jalapeno bits. They were bland. I saw one jalapeno flake in the 3 we got. And the accompanying jam was not "the jam". The Mac n cheese bites were tasty. I got the chicken and waffles. The chicken was beaten flat and folded over. Not sure why. The waffle was floppy like a thin piece of foam. It resembled more of a stale Eggo box waffle. At least those are crispy out of the box. This waffle had zero crisp. I guess they depend on the flattened fried chicken for the crisp. When asking - yes we had to ask for coffee refills every time - it too was room temp and only filled up 3 quarters of the way full. I guess they were saving coffee expenses by not filling the cup all the way. Hopefully they'll spend money to repair the AC vent above our table that kept dripping water on us during our meal. I guess the waitress was trying to make us feel better by pointing out that yes they knew it dripped and also that all the vents did that. Maybe that's why the food wasn't hot. No apology for water dripping on us. Just a factual explanation confirmed by the brown spots on the vents. Not sure if the spots are part of the folk or the art. The waitress seemed to just "call it in" while admitting she really didn't want to come into work that day. For the cost of the meal you could buy some good art. But save your money. This place can be avoided. Go to a place that serves hot food and doesn't give you a shower during your meal.Parking: Parking is always a nightmare in Decatur. This place didn't make parking worth the expense at $10 for an hour and a half. Geez.
Super cute! Loved the aesthetic and overall atmosphere of the restaurant. Came in early for breakfast and was seated immediately. Our waitress was nice and my meal was pretty good. I had the Southern Comfort which was shrimp, and grits. It also had vegetables, and two eggs on top with toast. The food was good and the portion size was good as well. I'll definitely visit again.
The Folk Art in Inman Park is always slammed (so it seems) so reluctantly we tried this one on a Sunday morning. I saw a huge line outside and was ready to pivot. Good news was that was just one large table waiting to get in. This location has a lot of indoor seating and bar seating great for couples or individuals. Service was good. Portions large. I had an omelet, and it came with toast and grits. I thought the grits were just okay but I’m generally not a fan. My wife tried the French toast. Huge portion and very good. Quite sweat. I was happy with the experience and would gladly go back.
The food was excellent, came out fast. It was fresh and delicious. They also had sweet n low my favorite. Our waitress was wonderful.
First time at Folk Art and it did not disappoint! Great food, service and atmosphere!
Service and food were absolutely on point!!! Try the Southern Comfort. You won't regret it.
2 Fried Chicken sandwiches and 2 side salads: tender chicken breast, juicy not dry, flavorful, and the collard green coleslaw adds a memorable flavor you'll crave. I added some FYH Mozzarella when I got home and 2 Claussen kosher dill spears on the side. The lady working the hostess stand, managing the wait staff, and assisting the food runners also made sure our order was packaged correctly before we left as we waited at the bar. We appreciated her attention to ALL the details of service operations today as we shared conversation and people watched. The experience at this location for take-out was a really good 1st time experience for my sister who was in-town over the weekend. Thanks for sending her home with a great close to our weekend! She said, "great suggestion, I love my sandwich!"
Really cool spot in Downtown Decatur. We parked in the garage behind the restaurant. I wanted to try this Folk Art because I frequent the one in Inman Park a lot. This locations vibe is its own for sure. The folks that work there are kind and efficient. I ordered the burger with all the fixings + mushrooms and Hashbrowns. My partner got the eggs Benedict. The whisky/bourbon craft cocktail was amazing. I’d get it again and the champagne was great too! I’d definitely come back. Bathrooms are clean. And the ambiance is bright and welcoming inside.
