In the past we frequented this location when I worked in the area. And we usually have a good experience. We stopped by today and had a terrible experience. The person taking our order was not friendly, did not greet us and seemed overall annoyed to be taking our order. My husband went to get a refill after deciding he didn’t like the cherry coke and the machine was turned off. When he asked the same unfriendly cashier stated that only one refill. We felt singled out as we were the only African American family there at the time and I have never in my life had a restaurant turn off the entire machine to stop refills (he only had one) . There is a more tactful way that could have been handled, or even signage that says one free refill only.In addition to that no one who worked there had on a mask and we were denied access to the restroom to wash hands.
Not only do you have to pay to park, and there is no drive thru, but then when I called to place an order for pickup, which is one of the listed options, I was told that they were too busy to take my order and that I'd have to come in to place an order. I guess, I'll just go to McDonald's.
Under new management—not a fun experience. Food was quick and tasty but hospitality poor. Still no dine in service. Restroom blocked off and no entry permitted for needy 5-yr old, plus all had just come from soccer and playground. Ate outside on sidewalk. $65 food order but no water cups granted for four children. Napkins rationed. Another $30 worth of Blizzards ordered but no tray available. Had to make three trips, two at a time. Tried to refill my soda but was informed I’d already had my one refill. If DQ is in the plan for grandkids, I’ll go elsewhere.
This Dairy Queen may have the best food of any location I've ever visited. The owner clearly takes a lot of care in the business and everything is extremely high quality. The free parking in the building is great too. This is definitely a great spot to stop for a snack.
They turn your blizzard upside down after they make it. Maybe it will scare you but no mess is made it stays in the cup
The fries and blizzard were great!?
Good desserts as expected, but prices are extremely high for the quantity you get. Might as well go to McDonalds for half the price
The best ice cream. The best fries. The best burgers. And the best service. A Decatur institution!
My son and I got Blizzards. We only buy their ice cream anyway.
My partner and I placed our order, he stated that it will be freshed. I ordered chicken strips, they were fresh but my toast bread was burnt but his #5 wasnt and tasted like rubber! We will not return!
