This place is on par with Umi for the best upscale sushi in Atlanta. You won’t find crunch rolls or other Americanized items here. Expect the highest quality fish and expect to pay for it. Amazing service as well.

I enjoyed my meal ?! I met with friends for an evening out and to try something new. I plan to make Brush Sushi Izakaya one of my goto places to dine. The atmosphere and service were wonderful. I had the Spicy Miso Ramen bowl. It had been years since I used chopsticks but it didn't take long to recall how to use them. I did get full so I had to get a doggie bag.

My wife, son & I walked into Brush Izakaya on my birthday at 5:00pm when they opened. The restaurant was completely empty other that a lady in front of us wanting to place a takeout order. For whatever reason the hostess gave no real explanation to the takeout person other than they were not able to accommodate her. We asked to sit at the empty sushi bar & we were told that it was reservation only. We asked the hostess if we could sit in the dining room again, she said that we needed a reservation. I then asked if she could take our reservation while we were standing in front of her & she easily said no that we needed to do it online. This was on a Sunday evening while downtown Decatur was defiantly not busy. We took our business to MF Sushi & was happy to spend $550.00. Dear Brush Izakaya, we will never enter your establishment again.

My fiance and I adore this place. We always sit at the bar. The service is honest and on point. Always get the 7 piece sashimi plate. The sakes are high quality. This is truely the most freshest, high quality sushi you can get in Atlanta. Trust me- we have tried a LOT.

Atmosphere: informal / casual. Had a very chill vibeWait Staff: very attentiveDrinks: creative, tasty and overall fantasticFood: it was ok. The sushi rice seemed to lack acidity from the rice wine vinegar. We weren’t wowed by the sushi because of this. The RWV adds a different depth to the sushi. Unfortunately I didn’t quite figure out what was missing until I left the restaurant otherwise I would have provided feedback.Celiac: they took all the steps to avoid x-contamination. They were attentive to our dietary restrictions and were able to accommodate.People should try the place out and not just take my opinion as gospel.

It was very good sushi. My complaint was with the pairing. Was told that would be 5 to 6 pairings but was only offered 4...Those also seemed to not match with the pairs and almost seemed as an after thought. Reviews also discussed that sushi was a masterpiece to look at. During the omasake the presentation was as expected and nothing unusual. The sushi itself was very good though.

They use a MICROWAVE. No good restaurant uses a microwave or even has one in their premises ? the funniest part is that u can see it thru the fish bowl looking area were they make their microwaved soups. I can't follow the hype when walking to the restroom I see a microwave and a kid using it to warm up food. This place is over priced and definitely overrated. You deserve better Decatur. Don't be fooled.

We did the omikase for my birthday. I did not book it so I'm unaware how that process went. But the food was delicious! The fish was served at a perfect temperature and I loved watching the chef prepare everything in front of us. First time I had ever had Cuttlefish and Barracuda! Service was great too. Sake pairings were nice as well.

Brush has an amazing omakase experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a high-quality dining experience! The fish is unbelievably fresh, and definitely on par with meals we've had abroad.

First time at Brush and it was INCREDIBLE! Lori was our server and was knowledgeable about sake and recommended the salmon citrus roll which was amazing. Best sushi in Decatur and top 5 in the city.
