My family and I had a terrible experience here. The food isn’t great for starters and neither is service. We found a gnat and what looked like an ant in two different plates of food after eating half of the plates. The ant like bug or gnat was found inside our child’s chicken and the waitress kept rolling it around on the chicken trying to say it was pepper all while it’s legs were very visible. Pepper doesn’t have legs.. We no longer wanted our food after this (who would?) as we were worried about having more in the rest. After bringing the issue to the waitress’s attention, she got mad and argued with us for some time trying to justify that it was ok and normal that we found bugs in our food. She wanted to allow a discount of taking the cheapest meal off which was our child’s chicken plate where we found one of the bugs. She argued that we ate half of our food and said that was why she would only take the one plate off. I asked the lady if she would continue eating food after she found bugs in it and she said no but continued to argue trying to persuade us that it was fine that there were bugs in our food by saying she found a gnat in her salad at a restaurant she went to and still ate the food. She was acting as if we put the bug there. I told her that I wasn’t going to stand there arguing with her while being attacked about something that wasn’t our fault. She kept saying she was trying to help us and that it was all that she could do all while acting as if she were a victim. I asked her to contact her manager who she said wasn’t there, she called him speaking angrily about the situation, not in English. She acted as if we were lying about the multiple bugs because we couldn’t find one of them. We never once were hateful or disrespectful but didn’t receive the same respect in return. The manager allowed us half price for our food that we couldn’t even eat. We will not be returning. You cannot think that it is ok to serve food with BUGS in it and try and convince customers that it’s not a big deal. Very unprofessional and unsanitary. I understand that as a business, they have to make profit but that means health standards should be met along with respect.
I really love this place, nice atmosphere with good furnishings. Great takeout turn around times and most importantly, great sushi at a great price, their lunch sushi special is a helluva bargain!
This is one of the best sushi you can't get all around Georgia and Tennessee. Their sushi is better than in more expensive places. We have eaten sushi in many places around the country and always prefer Kumo in Dalton GA. Even my son 6yr who decided not to eat any this days, was fascinated eating Hawaiian roll there. (Also my favorite)
Food is normally good but I don't like to argue with my server after I said the chicken was too peppery it wasn't a good experience I sat at the table trying to explain I would rather just have the rice after that didn't work I told them I no longer want any of it. I had taken one bite of chicken and one bite of rice at that point. After arguing for another 2 to 3 minutes I got tired of arguing with the lady so I stated just leave the rice and take the chicken. The rice was still awful bunch of pieces in there were undercooked and still solid the charge for vegetables and rice was $10 which is outrageous. I will not be back
Rudest staff I’ve ever encountered in a restaurant. Terrible service. The people who own the restaurant are great and I feel sorry for their staff. I’ve been coming here since the restaurant opened and I’ll never return!
I had the chicken teriyaki dinner bento box with fried rice, two spring rolls, spicy crab roll, vegetables, and a salad. For 14.50 it was the cheapest option for hibachi and a roll plus I had leftovers so I say totally worth it. The premium rolls are kind of overpriced for other sushi places i’ve been but the taste is spot on for being 7 hours away from the ocean.
The best Asian food in Dalton, try their teriyaki chicken and you won’t be disappointed!
I work up in Dalton once a month and make it a priority to eat here for lunch. Their hibachi is on point! Love their food!
We usually eat here for lunch once per week. It’s great and they are pretty fast. Try the bento box to get a little bit of everything.
Favorite place to eat in dalton! We always receive great customer service from their employees and the food is delicious, it’s a bit pricey but totally worth the money.
