Really enjoyed the experience! Our wait was short for a week day about 5 minutes. I had Nana's Plate with chicken wing upgrade.. My husband had an omelet with potatoes and Grits. He said the grits were okay. The service was wonderful. Our server was Alyssa. Enjoyed the food and music.
This was an awesome experience with my mom and sisters! The atmosphere, music, and food were all great! It felt good being back home for a weekend and experiencing this place after walking Stone Mountain. Definitely worth a visit. I would advise going earlier in the day; they are really busy. The helpful part is they will alert you when it is your time. Our wait was about an hour so we did some shopping and then came back. I would recommend downloading the Yelp app to see your place in line. The wait staff and valet guys were super nice and personable!I had the Peach Cobbler Waffle (I believe) and wings. The half and half peach tea and lemonade was delicious! The potatoes were okay, need a bit more seasoning but honestly with the portion sizes it was not needed.
It was an absolute JOY being serviced by Alyssa. She was personable and professional, well-versed in the menu and provided excellent recommendations. Customer service excellence from the time we pulled into the parking lot with Zack, our valet, to the hostess, and again, our server. The live DJ was a pleasure and everything we ordered was PHENOMENAL. The sweet tea, lemonade, peach purée, seafood omelette and salmon croquets were just DOWN HOME DELICIOUSNESS. Should you encounter a wait, it is definitely well worth it.
Very Very Disappointed With This Place , So I got there today 4/6/2022 Around 12:06 I was not seated until 2:15-2:25 after I was told there would be a Hour and 20 min wait, the host was very unprofessional when she was approached about me and another guest being seated, she asked us to leave and she would come out to get us when she got a table ready they had about 6 tables with not customers sitting at just dirty no one was cleaning them , When finally seated almost 2:45 we was brought a menu the waitress never once mentioned to us that all sales was finial, I order Shrimp and grits , A waffle and side of cat fish , 2nd order chicken and waffles and Shrimp and Grits, Everything was good besides the Grits and the sauce they use on them , food came out fast less then 10 mins , Now I call the waitress over and tell her I don’t like the grits or the sauce and she says we have a no return policy for our food so it wasn’t anything she could do, I asked her if I can change my order I did not want the shrimp and grits I did not eat off the plate at all , all I did was taste the sauce, the grits was watery and looked half done so I decided I didn’t want it , not when we sat down she never once said anything about this no return policy, she was very rude to me and my guest when asked to change out meal and she asked if I want to take the food home I told her No, she walked away from me and told me “OH WELL” you going to pay for them because we have a no return policy , and i told her I will pay for what i ate but no what I didn’t eat , she came to me with the bill with everything still listed on there and I said I was going to talk to the lady up front she then stormed away talking under her breath, I get to the front and I explains everything to the lady up front she tells me she can’t do anything because my waitress was the manager and she cannot override her , so my waitress walk pass me up front and I ask her can she just charge me for what I did eat she repeatedly got loud with me and told me no she will not I need to pay for the whole bill , and I just was asking why should I pay for something I did not eat , So she wouldn’t just charge me For what I did eat I told her I wasn’t paying she told one of the host to follow me outside and take a picture of my license plate , I did end up paying for the whole bill , I just was very upset about how I was treated by a Manager At A restaurant, Also she yelled and said they don’t have to tell costumers anything about a return policy because they are privately owned , when I suggested they should because ppl will be sure about what they order , she just repeated I don’t have I don’t have to, Will never attend this place again, HER NAME WAS SONYA ( MANAGER ON DUTY ) VERY RUDE
Great food, but not very friendly ppl at all!
Finally got a chance to come here and it was a little disappointing. I had chicken & waffles with a side of cajun grits. The chicken wings were really good but the waffles and grits were bland. I don’t mind paying higher prices for food but at least give me quality. They gave me buttery spread instead of real butter and very cheap syrup instead of true maple syrup. The coffee was decent and my server was very professional and polite.
Extremely impressed from beginning to end!! Valet Parking:Pull up into the driveway and the valet is waiting on you. It's a free and fast service.Waitress: Excellent!! Recommend top items and special. They are very attentive to your needs and super nice.?Foods: Best explanations came from my 16 year old. “Somebody back there prayed over the food before it came out. It is very good and we need one in Memphis.”Building: Extremely clean, great music playing, wonderful environment. We will be back again.Follow me on TikTok @coachjhines for TikTok reaction on Mama’s Chicken-N-Waffles
We were there to celebrate a Birthday and for the most part was disappointed by the taste of the food after spending$100 plus for 5 people. The Green tomatoes were Good and so was the CinnamonRoll Waffle, My mother had the Catfish breakfast with Cajun Grits which was gritty and tasted half cooked. My Omelette was over cooked and it came with an portion of grits or potatoes. I chose grits and after tasting them I asked could I change them for the potatoes, and was told they had a policy of a No return/ exchange. Server never asked whether we had been there before to inform us of this policy. WOW!!! Very bad experience. WE WON'T BE BACK!! ????
I don't like writing negative reviews, but something just wasn't right with our order.I ordered the"Strawberry Waffle & ChickenRegular $14.00Extra Fresh StrawberriesFresh Strawberries $1.00Add Strawberry Cream CheeseStrawberry Cream Cheese $0.75"I got a soggy, pink waffle and a container of I don't know what, but it was not "fresh strawberries, cream cheese or strawberry cream cheese". (It honestly tasted/looked like butter and a strawberry flavored sugar). Not worth that extra $1.75 on top of $14.The wings were fine. They were crunchy and tasted fine, and I felt the portion size was big for a wing. For $35 for 1 adult and 1 child, the food wasn't enough, and we were both left hungry. In addition to the adult portion of chicken and waffles, I got a kid's chicken sausage and waffle. Plus Cajun fries. We were not given cutlery, syrup or ketchup. (So remember to check your order). And I had to ask for our beverages as well.
It is their specialty! There are other options but why bother. The red velvet waffles were good. The chicken was nice a crisp. The vibe was nice. It is small so make sure to join the waiting list. The day I was there, they had a DJ but the speakers were just too big for the small restaurant so it was hard to hear at the table. Over all a great place to get your fix of chicken and waffles.
