If I could give 10/5 stars I would. Phenomenal. Crystal and the staff are some of the kindest folks I've ever met. They made sure we were taken care of. Food was unbelievable. I don't think you could go wrong with any choice. Homemade bbq sauce, tarter sauce...yum. ribs great, catfish great, Brunswick stew is the best I've ever had, Mac and cheese great, sweet tea is great. Do yourself a favor and eat here.
Ladies and Gentlemen this Catfish dinner photo should tell you all you need to know... You see the Catfish the macaroni and cheese, the collard greens and a cornbread muffin (P.S... I had a bowl of rutabagas as well). The servers were kind and gracious and I highly recommend Thelma's Kitchen
2nd time visiting location. The location is clean,staff is friendly enough and move with a sense of urgency. They may have been down a person on their serving line, the wait time could be improved with another person or possibly a second cashier. The ribs were good as they were the first time I ate there. The sides were another matter, idk which one was drier the macaroni or the corn bread muffin. I thought since it was a soul food restaurant, food would be made in house and with love. The potato salad was definitely store bought with no attempt to make it taste homemade, with huge chunks of bland potatoes in it. I feel like that type of information should be disclosed prior to purchase, again I'm expecting soul food prepared with love and soul. I also purchased a banana pudding, let's just say if I visit a 3rd time, I will get the ribs only and make my own sides and dessert. I spent about $20,so it didn't break the bank, oh the sweet tea was good.
My family and I came in town from North Carolina and New York .So we googled soul food restaurant near me. It gave us a list of restaurants. We had to navigate through thro pictures and reviews. That lead is to Thelma’s. As soon as you walked in ,the hostess is there to great you . Everything was clean . It was bright inside. And the staff was clean and very pleasant. The food from chitterlings, fried fish , ox tails and pork chops and all the food they had in between was so good .the total experience over exceeded our expectations! not to mention the price point!! The food taste better than the pictures captured.Who ever THELMA is ,she is the biggest attraction in this little city! When ever we are come to visit my feet will be under THELMA’s table .. CONGRATULATIONS!!
The food and staff are both awesome. The customer service is great I felt like I was going over family house they was so welcoming and down to earth. The facility was very clean and food was great!

I absolutely love this place! I would HIGHLY recommend anyone stopping in to grab a bite to eat. As a first timer, Krystal excitedly explained all of our options to eat and drink. She was incredibly tentative and always met us with a positive attitude and great energy. Their ribs were some of the best I have ever had and went perfectly with the Mac n cheese! We will be coming back soon!!
DELICIOUS, flavorful food, lots of choices, great environment and EXCELLENT service. They made us feel welcome and comfortable and made sure everything was perfect. Some of the best food I’ve ever had. We will make it a point to eat here anytime we’re anywhere near the area!
