My place to go for crab boil. Great price ,well seasoned made to order. Everytime I come back to Columbus this is a stop. You don't have to pay extra for eggs and sausage which definitely belongs in the boil. I lived in Chesapeake Virginia and they put them restaurants to shame when it comes to the boil. Also I seen T shirts in there that are meaningful to Columbus.. Turn around Columbus!!! As a community it can be achieved. The pictures tell a story of family history and accomplishments which would inspire the youth. Everyone can accomplish their dreams. Hard work and dedication. If you never been to Skippers you should join them.
I went to this HORRIBLE place. I ordered the gried grouper, catfish fillet, fried frog legs, shrimp and grits and fried green tomatoes. The fish was ok but I was given whole frogs with the guts still inside and not even cooked all the way through. My fried green tomatoes were black and the batter was still wet. The shrimp in my grits weren't peeled at all!!!!!! I called the restaurant to inform the owner how my meal was prepared not asking for a refund and he was so rude and told me how the food was prepared and how HE cooked it. $65 worth of food wasted on top of poor customer service. Do not eat at this place
$41.00 I got a half cluster that was missing 3 legs with 3 inches of sausage 7 shrimp. The rest of my food was mushy taters. Small portions of overpriced and oversteamed food. They got a bar but they only use 1/2 oz Mr Boston vodka in your $10 mixed drinks. Plus the girl on the register let my food sit there for 30 mins before she gave me my food with an attitude. Average wait time 45 mins everytime I came. I've found better food now.
I've had better crab boils very dry asked for a certain flavor and spice level and it was wrong
This place is amazing. I had gumbo and scallops but they also have: frog legs, grouper, oysters,catfish, trout, snow crab, blue crab, trout, crawfish, clam chowder, gator bites, crab cakes, wings, burgers and more. I highly recommend.
11Feb22. I visited here because my normal place for ordering fresh seafood was closed. I met Mr. Skipper. I ordered shrimp and Catfish filets. The shrimp had freezer burn on multiple pieces and the Catfish filets looked very dry. I was told that there was a supply issue with the truck blockades. I decided to help this business by purchasing. Once I got home, I had to cut the freezer burned portions from the shrimp and the Catfish filets were very dry, even after buttermilk and batter. I will not be back to Skipper's.
My cousin was here from Jersey and wanted some good seafood. Our first time at Skippers, the food was great. It was closing time but they still accommodated us. On my way there now with my daughter and her friend.
Great place for family dinning. Friendly staff and awesome, affordable food! Just look behind the wall on Buena Vista
Taste is decent but I got half of a fillet of catfish and 4 shrimp for $21.
