Our server did an excellent job, the food was great and we were able to get the back room. This made for a very special good bye evening for a friend. The group appreciated Ezell's giving us a great evening.
The food was delicious and hot the only complaint was the long wait and not enough staff working. I had a call in order it was not ready for pick up when they told me it would be, also too many people in the lobby when I arrived and out side also. Some with no masks not good!
Although I've never experienced a protracted delay with my order at Ezell's, every table gets these irresistible hush puppies to nibble on while studying the menu. Maybe that's why everyone is so chill while the kitchen pulls together their orders. The servers must get a bite, too, because they also operate as nice as can be. My only quibble would be the Paul Bunyan size water glasses. If you have a 4 1/4 tennis grip, you may want to ask the waiter for water or tea in a styrofoam go cup.

I hope you know how good the hushpuppies and Cole slaw are that they bring to the tab k e with your drinks. They can become your meal if you aren't careful. My children have had to pack their meal for later on some occasions!
From the atmosphere, to the customer service to the food - my first experience here was A+.Ordered the fried oyster dinner and enjoyed every bit of it.Oysters and hushpuppies were fried to perfection.Can't wait to come back to Columbus just to visit!
We were surprised to see the parking lot so empty, but we wandered in to try the food. I'm glad we did. The catfish was delicious and hot on arrival at table. Serving size was plentiful. Hush puppies and coleslaw are brough to table ahead of the meal. That was a mistake for me. I could have eaten the entire plate of hush puppies (I did eat 5 of them). We did not try them, but I saw plates of fried pickles and fried onion rings being delivered and they looked really good. This is not an expensive or pretential place. It is just plenty of good food for a good price.

While traveling back home from FL we stayed in Columbus GA and we decided to try Ezells and we are really glad we did. When we were seated our server brought us a bowl of hot hush puppies and a bowl of slaw. Both were very good although the slaw was a tad sweet for my liking but hubby thought it was good. I got the catfish and fantail shrimp combo and hubs got the catfish and fried oysters. We both got baked potatoes. Everything was very fresh and tender. You could tell that it was all breaded in-house. The tarter sauce complimented the oysters and catfish perfectly.
We came across this roadside surprise while passing through the area. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the decor was very cute and fitting for a country catfish house. We will be back next time in the area— worth a trip!
