Barbecue restaurants aren't ever my first pick, usually for a couple of reasons. The staff here are sweet and certainly very patient. The atmosphere, employees, and mashed potatoes are why I'm giving this place three stars. The Brunswick Stew was mediocre, my hamburger steak appeared to have only been flipped once then left on that side for the remaining cook time, and the fries weren't even warm. If you're hungry and options are few, you might be pleasantly surprised, though I got exactly what I expected to.
Wonderful experience. The food was good and the micro brew selection was tremendous. This was our first time in Columbus and it appears to us that Columbus has a dearthof restaurants except for fast foodService was excellent especially compared to the nearby McDonald's and waffle House.
So I will admit, a lot of this may be nostalgia, this was my dads favourite. I when living in savannah once drove the 6 hours just to get eat here. It has been there through the changes we all face such as my fathers death. All of that aside doesn’t detract from the fact that this is the best bbq hands down in Georgia. To the point where I judge all other by country’s ability.
Stopped in to eat with a friend from the west coast cause they wanted Southern BBQ. A prior unpleasant experience at a different location made me wary of eating at Country's again, but everything was fine this time! Place was clean and service was friendly, although we had to wait a while to pay and leave. The brisket sandwich and a large lemonade is the perfect amount of food for me, and we shared an order of fried pickles which were delicious. Great place to eat if you don't mind a simple menu.
I just left this place and refused to spend my money when treated so horribly placing the order. The girl (short white girl wearing a ponytail) was so hostile in the way she addressed me - even making a face at me during the process. Might I remind you that just a year ago - you were desperately trying to stay afloat due to the pandemic. Every interaction with customers is important for the success of your business.
Before my visit, I heard great things about this place. The service was good. The food was just ok…pork was good, coleslaw was very vinegary, the cornbread was like a hockey puck. Portion size was fine.
It was alright. The service was great. The food, not so much. The pork egg rolls were on point but the chicken was pretty plain, and the fries mushy. The potato salad was also a bit plain, as well as the beans. It wasn't bad but I can't honestly say I'd go there again.
I’ve grown up on/with Country’s (even went to school with some of the family) and have never been so disappointed in seeing how poorly the establishment is being run. We regularly dine there and occasionally there’s a hiccup but overall still the County’s we all know and love but have noticed the steady decline. Tonight definitely forecasted how the place is changing or has changed. There were literally 5 fries on the dish and 2 pieces of meat broken up. The menu prices have gone up as to be expected. What we didn’t expect was the waitress letting us know they were also now “shortening the portion size” . There were very few people there and it looked like the place was spiraling downwards. When asked to speak to a manager, we’ve been told they can not get a manager to see us. They relayed the message. So sad. We will now be “shortening”our visits.
Always friendly staff. Good food. Sometimes chicken overcooked but usually great. Open roast beef sand is especially good with extra gravy.
Nice Place to go but I am not a big barbecue fan good food. Lol
