I remember when this use to be the best place in town for Chinese food, those days are gone. Our server Matt was amazing but the food was disgusting, don't waste your time or money.
Food was cold and lacked the flavor it used to have. 3 entrees ordered , one came out then 10 minutes later another, 5 more minutes before the third was served No soup offered, no egg roll, no wontons, no garnish on plate.
Under new ownership . food quality and taste is less than desirable. will not waste my time or money anymore
The food and service was absolutely wonderful, as always. We have been dining here for many years. We love the lunch menu and choices. Everyone who works here is fantastic. We were shocked to hear that it has been sold. We really hope that now that has happened, the amazing service and delicious food won't change!!!
We had been excited about trying Chef Lee's after hearing it was the best Chinese food in the area. However, that was not our experience. The lovely decor creates an atmosphere that initially suggests the highest quality service and cuisine - a luxurious suggestion also mirrored by the prices on their menu - but the rushed, casual service and bland, lackluster food left much to be desired by the end of our meal. The potstickers we ordered as an appetizer were the very best part of our experience, while both entrees we ordered (Phoenix and Dragon & Snow White Chicken) were very mediocre.I've had much better for less and in the end, it felt like we were simply paying for the elaborate decor/experience instead of exceptional cuisine.Feeding the fish in the live ponds out front was probably the highlight of our entire experience.
It has been quite some time since I returned to Chef Lee’s because of the Covid crisis but I was so happy to see Chef Lee’s wife hosting when I returned there on Saturday. I ordered my favorite, House Chicken, and my friend ordered the Mongolian Beef. They were as delicious as before the Covid outbreak. The egg drop soup was delicious as well. So glad things are returning to normal. I love this restaurant and you will too.
Best Chinese food I've ever had! Recommended by a local gentleman, Chef Lee's was definitely beyond my expectations for a local place. The Mongolian beef was sweet and had lots of umami. The egg drop soup was delicious and rich. The fortune cookie even tasted good. ?
The vibe was amazing. A truly beautiful restaurant. It felt a bit strange that the employees stood near our table the entire time we were there, but never offered to refill our drinks. We had an issue with our food but the chef came out and was very pleasant about rectifying the problem and was very friendly. I wish all the staff was just as friendly. The food was fresh and I'm assuming closer to authentic Chinese food than what I've ever had before. My favorite part about this gem was the decor and the crab Rangoon. Very beautiful aesthetic and delicious appetizer. The waitress, who barely waited our table, checked the tip and compared it to our bill which had to be adjusted due to the issue we had with our meal... When bringing out our food, she originally gave me an adult plate and took it back and gave me a child's plate... I'm assuming because I'm plus sized... but that's just an assumption being that I was clearly an adult. We came in clearly as a family... Adult male. Adult female. A pre-teen. 2 small children. She asked us three times if it would be on the same ticket... like, why wouldn't it be on the same ticket ma'am?? Clearly we are a family and how many families come in with small children and split a tab?! Because of the issue with our meal and very minimum service, my husband didn't think we should have left a tip... But I Felt the stereotypes being thrown out so I chose to leave one anyway. I love tipping because when I was in college, I lived off tips, unfortunately, I also believe good tips are earned, not given... Had it gone to the chef, I would have left my normal $20 or better but the vibe I got from the waitress and her lack of personal skills left me feeling very uneasy.. and I didn't feel like our table was important.. As much as I loved the chef and the restaurant itself, I don't think I'll return. This 4 stars is mainly because of the chef, the ambiance, and some of the food... Honestly had it not been for the chef himself, it would have been 3 stars. So to the chef, thank you so much for your kindness. I'm not sure if you're the owner or not but your warmness and kindness to me and my family, despite the color of our skin was very much appreciated ☺️
Chef Lee is always AMAZING I love their food, just wish they bring them Amazing oranges back.. lol
Well established restaurant that has been serving Columbus,Georgia, for some time. Great dishes served at this restaurant. The chicken and chef Pking fried rice are good. I also like the sweet and sour chicken. Most of the staff is friendly; sometimes, they move to fast or rush guest. The food is prepared very quickly.
