I was visiting my sweetie (Alabama Power). It was our first time! As always, I allowed him to order for me. He ordered the T-bone! They were out of them (Rib-eye). Sides were loaded baked potato and the house salad. We also had spinach dip! The food was delicious! The croissants were divine. The waitress (Monica) was phenomenal!
I had the chicken strips and fries and it was more than I could eat. The coleslaw was not as dry as reviews led me to believe.
This was one of the worst experiences in a while. We walked in this establishment and there was no wait, that was the highlight. We were walked to our table. Upon sitting down, I realized the establishment smelled like sour dish clothes. It was horrible. I wanted to leave, yet my husband said I am a harsh critic and give it a chance. So we sat down. The young lady waited a few and took our drink and food order. While waiting I was looking around and realized our kiosk and others on other tables were dirty. There were other tables dirty and the floor was dirty. The big kicker was the build up of dust and dirt on the lamp hanging from the wall over the table. It was horrible. We got our drinks and began talk. Of course I was discussing my sights and suddenly, I knocked over my cup on the floor. Shockingly the cup and all contents remained on the floor until well after my departure. Repeatedly being walked on by multiple people. My food came out and it was cold. I think we took 2 bites and left.

The food was fabulous, but we couldn't get over the soured smell. Hostess said it was the cleaner they used to wipe down the tables. I certainly hope not. I've never smelled any cleanser or disinfectant so nasty. Hostess did move us to the other side of the restaurant. Smell was less strong at the new table. We should have left, but not being familiar with the area and my friend could order foods on her special diet there, we stayed.
You have to wear masks to enter the restaurant; however there is dust on the ledge. It took 37 minutes to get my drink from the bar, the appetizers cheese dip sat in the window long enough to get cold and have a film over it. The chicken pot pie was very watery, ribs were warm at best, and the Monty Cristo was very well done. Will not be going back.
The food was normal Cheddars food, always flavorful and appetizing. The Hostess seamed kinda unwelcoming and both liked to play on their phones. The young server didn’t check on us very often, didn’t bring croissants or keep drinks refilled. There were dirty tables and really don’t understand considering there are not many customers due to the COVID.
Another local fave. Great appetizers and a good selection of meals. Their broccoli cheese casserole is a must try along with the hot buttered croissants!
The Columbus Cheddar's is very good... and very busy. We were there on a Wednesday night at 5:15 pm and the people were already standing outside waiting. But is is worth it!! The service was good and our food came out very promptly. Clean inside and out and clean restrooms. The Cheddar's menu offers everyone something to eat. And I have to mention the croissants they give you... they are FANTASTIC!
Great Chicken Fried Steak, love the HONEY BUTTER CROISSANTS. I order steak and shrimp the waiter didn't bat an eye when I ordered blue cheese dressing with hot sauce for my shrimp. Great service.
