It’s Waffle House its terrible
I am staying in the area off and on and have went here 3 times on night shift and everything was perfect. Went this afternoon with my partner and sit waiting for 15 minutes, as they served to-go customers, but we were just ignored while the staff sat in the office laughing and giggling. The cook apologized for the wait but couldn't he have at least gave us drinks? When the server finally comes over she seems rushed and says "What do you want?" Then she corrects her rude greeting and says "What would you like to drink?" We order our drinks and she tries to rush me right into ordering food. I like to get my drink and relax first before ordering. A restaurant turns me off pretty quickly when I feel like I'm being rushed to order, eat my meal and get out the door! Feeling rushed, I order and I have to repeat the order 3 times and then the server gets an attitude with me as if it is my fault I have to repeat my order. We left! You would think this Waffle House would have it's best people working here day and night since it's surrounded by at least 6 hotels! I love Waffle House but it's hit and miss with the Servers! Guess I will try another one! For the record I have a very simple easy order that I get everytime and I make it clear: "I would like two double Texas Bacon Patty Melts, just the sandwiches not the meal, with pickles and grilled onions... mayonnaise and Waffle House sauce on the side." I was in the service industry many years myself and tip big... but only if I'm greeted in a timely manner, get something to drink quickly and don't have to repeat myself.

That breakfast was horrible and the service was awful. I've never left food on the table at any restaurant. But i a All star breakfast and ask no cheese in my eggs just two eggs over medium. But i was giving running eggs with cheese and burnt sausage i didn't receive my waffle that comes the All-star breakfast. The only good thing was the hash browns and the lemonade. I won't be going there again.
Beware of the blonde Caucasian lady with the ponytail(must be management). She has a NASTY ATTITUDE and NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! The sign on the wall CLEARLY SAYS "take out only", I sat down at the counter to rest my legs, after standing in the to-go line for 10+ min, while I waited to give my order and she insisted I stand in line. There were no patrons inside that I was keeping the seat from, it was empty, everyone had a to-go order! After a long night of work, this was disheartening and frustrating, I kindly explained I knew my place in line and that I was just sitting to rest my legs, she then said go to another waffle house, which I explained this was my 3rd one!! She then leaned over and told the to-go server NOT to take my order!! This will definitely be going up the chain to CORPORATE. It's 4am!! And I'm so ANGRY AND HUNGRY!!!! ?
I haven't had Waffle House since 2019 due to Covid. I was so excited to get a double waffle! However, as you can see one waffle is burned and hard and the other waffle had batter still in the middle. Why would my server bring this to my table? Why would the cook serve this? I ended up going home and cooking...who really wants to have to do that?
Very frustrated with my visit here. The food was fine but I’d walked here from my nearby hotel because it was the only place open early for breakfast. I was greeted by two night shift employees who informed me I couldn’t dine in because they had to clean and were heading home SOON. If I wanted to wait for the day shift to dine in I could…I arrived at 5:30 am….and it says open 24hrs on the sign…I get that times are hard right now but as a business person I’d be concerned about the image this portrays to customers. More time spent explaining why they couldn’t help vs. what they COULD do. But to be fair the grits were great after I walked back to my hotel.
All of these waffle Houses on Virginia Ave,must keep there on hours, I know the sign says 24/7 but not true. They close and lock the door at 8:30pm and tell you they aren't taking any orders there starting shift change, come back at 9. You come back at 9:15 only to find doors locked and everyone is in the back room .How long do they expect you to wait?. Now the other two on Virginia Ave same thing before you get out of your car they have someone tell you there not taking orders and the the last one by then is after 9 it's now 9:40 and now I'm told we can't take orders we have to set up,so what's going on? Used to be that one shift couldn't leave until the other ones were there to take over, and they always took your order, now it's like your bothering them for you to want to buy dinner.Get it together or stop riding the clock.
***Negative 0 for customer service.***Went on Mon. Feb 21st at 11:46 PM and received horrible service from two women. Not one customer in the the dining area and they told me to go orders only. While placing my order she said cash only because “the machine broke”. Yea, ok.After I placed my order, she said I had to wait outside in the cold and I couldn’t wait for my order inside. I asked why the other customer could wait inside for their food, she said “Because he tipped me.”???!!! WowWhile leaving with my food, she called me a name under her breath (I won’t repeat) and locked the door right behind me.This type service should not be tolerated and the staff should be ashamed of themselves.
Worst Waffle House in the area. I’m sure the one right down the street does 10 times the business that this one does. It doesn’t take long to see why either. The staff is rude and inattentive at best. I went in there and the entire staff was engaged in a conversation with another customer. So much so, that after I sat there for 5-6 minutes one of the waitresses finally admitted that she didn’t even notice me there and asked me what I wanted to drink. She came to my table with the coffee I asked for and then got an attitude when I asked her to wipe my table down. Told me that I “sat at a dirty table”..? Okay… Her and the rest of the staff then proceeded to talk amongst themselves about how everyone was rude and how they weren’t going to have it this morning! Pfft! I got up and left before it got ugly. I will never in life patronize that place again, and I don’t advise anybody who reads this review to. Do yourself a favor and go to the one right down the street. It’s MUCH cleaner and you will get much better service. They should close this one for good. The way that it’s staffed and managed, I won’t be surprised if they do.
