Bartender couldn't remember anything. We order drinks she forgot to bring them. Food showed up and we literally had to beg to get her attention. Kitchen staff that delivered food refused to get us waters. We literally finished our appetizers, wings and jalapenos cheese curds without anything to sip on. Food was amazing, bartender who only had 5 others at her bar could not keep up. Finally a waters arrived upon asking for the check. We wanted to explore the menu farther BUT like I said we were sick of trying to get the bartender to even check on us. Not a fan. Won't return.
My aunt, my mom, and I just left the most exquisite experience in The Cellar. The most divine food- words cannot describe the spiritual experience created by the masterpieces placed on plates before us. The service was impeccable, the cocktails were perfectly crafted, the food was beyond comprehension- a transcendental experience of bliss and love. This beautiful atmosphere was comforting, warm, exciting, and I am eagerly awaiting my next visit. The Cellar is the best part of Cartersville that I have seen. Truly grateful. I even got to hug a chef in appreciation and my heart is so full after this experience, thank you all!!!
Highly recommend for a dining experience one step up from a chain restaurant in cost and formality, but two steps up in quality of food!.Bar restaurant in the basement of a building with rustic/industrial atmosphere. Food was excellent! Good selection of specialties and market sourced ingredients.
I could not adequately express how amazing The City Cellar was for my family and I! After a disappointing attempt to eat at another establishment, The City Cellar not only accommodated my family, they took us in and were so gracious and excited for us to be there! On top of the 10/10 service, the food was out of this world. Beautiful dishes that matched in taste and portion sizes. We didn’t expect to be here, but we sure are glad we ended up here.
We had the Half Chicken with collards and the Cowboy Burger with sweet potato fries. Both were excellent! The collards were the best I’ve ever had in my life. Tomo, our waitress, was so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back again. Worth a trip to Cartersville! Check it out!!
Absolute, must try! We were in Cartersville looking for a local spot for dinner and The City Cellar delivered with delicious food, great drinks and amazing service.
A very cozy, rustic restaurant snuggled into downtown Cartersville adjacent to the railroad tracks. Charming place with exposed floor joists overhead and a wooden-themed atmosphere. Entrance goes downstairs and opens up to a spacious seating area and a nicely appointed bar. The food was really good. We had the loaded potato soup, the Buttermilk Half Chicken Plate with mashed potatoes and gravy served with collards, and the Fried Green Tomato BLT w/ fries. The meal started with Fried Cheese Curds. The menu is small and doesn't overwelm the customer. Very friendly staff that welcomes you warmly. Highly recommend this place.
It pains me to write this review. I have been a long time fan of City Cellar. I love supporting local places and this one has always been on the top of my list. Normally, there is a long wait to get a table, so when we only waited 15 minutes, I should have known something was different. Tonight's experience was just disappointing. We were told that the owner is still the same, but they have a new chef and a changed menu. First off, the prices are over the top. I know everything has gone up, but this increase was high. If you are going to charge it, better be able to deliver it. Second - on the previous menu, one of the best meals offered is the fried chicken breast! Absolutely incredible! The new menu says it is fried, but it is more like an oven baked, 1/2 of a very small chicken (bones included). It was very dry and overcooked. The chicken comes with collard greens and mashed potatoes and gravy - tonight our gravy had a burnt taste to it and the greens tasted mostly like pepper. The pork chop was grilled perfectly but the gravy ruined the taste of my mashed potatoes, so for $28, I only had one pork chop for dinner. The staff and our waitress was super nice and very attentive, no complaints here at all. The fun and outgoing atmosphere is no longer present. Usually the owner walks around laughing and joking with everyone - never saw him. The bar area was even mellow. Bring back my old restaurant and please return to the original recipes!
Met some great friends there for lunch. What a great time! Service was outstanding and the fool was excellent. Cozy place and not too noisy. I've already recommended to several. 30 minutes drive from my house but totally worth it.
The food was pretty good. I had the melt and fries. My friend had the shrimp and grits. She didn't like the fact that the tails were still on the shrimp, seemed like a messy dish. Staff was polite and attentive. Floor was a little sticky and it smelled as little weird but otherwise clean.
