I've been to Maine Street about 4-5 times since I moved to Cartersville. The last visit unfortunately completely ruined the experience for my family and I. We waited an hour for our food, we were given no bread because they don't normally give bread during lunch (Sunday brunch), but it was given to another table next to us? Every single person had ordered a dinner entree and we couldn't even be afforded a bread basket during our extremely long wait for food. Not to mention- it was not even very busy! I NEVER order pasta but I had been in the mood for scallops so I did. $25. $25 for 2.5 scallops and 4 severely overcooked shrimp. I literally just paid $25 for a whole pound of fresh scallops this size the week before, and that wasn't even from a wholesaler. The amount of pasta was pitiful. If I can finish a pasta dish you gave me way too little. It's the cheapest thing on the whole plate and it was severely skimped. Our guests ordered the crab cake appetizer... One tiny crab cake for $20. A kids meal with FOUR shrimp and BURNT green beans was $8. I understand that food costs are up everywhere, but this is absurd. In addition, when you do order a dinner entree with sides- they only give you one. If you want a salad or soup- you have to pay for it separately. I have been in the restaurant business for an insane amount of time and none of this makes sense. You'd rather have your guests hungry, getting antsy, and waiting an hour for food than to sacrifice $2-3 for a starter salad which is quite reasonable considering the entree prices. I've been to seafood restaurants inland and on the shore all over the world and absolutely none of them are this stingy. The only reason I came so often is because #1 the half price margaritas on Fridays are delicious #2 the lunch menu prices on the weekdays are what the dinner menu prices should be #3 the calamari is one of my favorites. Therefore, come during lunch. Otherwise you'll be left with a large bill, with a low quality and quantity of food.
I was in town for work and looked up some places to eat. Well I came across this place and decided to give it a try.We were greeted at the door by a kind and funny lady. We had a bigger party and she said we had around a 25-30 min wait to get a table or two ready for us. Well, they rushed together the 2 tables and we only waited maybe 15 min. So that was awesome. Our waiter was Logan. He came to get our drinks and had them out in no time. He then took our order, I decided to get the lobster roll and the shrimp. The food came out in pretty decent time and looked pretty good too.The lobster roll was very good with great flavor but I expected it to be a little bigger for the $28 price tag. I’ve had lobster rolls before and the portion on this one was a little small compared to others. The shrimp were big, juicy and also had great flavor. It was a good amount of shrimp too.Overall I can say, if you’re in the area this place is a must try. Good people and good atmosphere.
We ate at Maine Street Coastal for lunch today. The food was a huge disappointment. When you spend $100 for 2 people you expect a great lunch. The lobster roll bun was completely BURNED. The roll had very little lobster meat. Do not trust the photos the restaurant provides on their website. The mashed potatoes were cold in the middle. They did not microwave them enough. The crab cake was burned. The lobster Mac and Cheese had no lobster we could taste. Oysters were very small. Our waitress was very nice. This is my second BAD visit to Maine Street Coastal. A friend told me they had improved the food so we tried it again. MY MISTAKE to go back to this bad seafood restaurant.
The grilled haddock was outstanding - fresh, flavorful, moist. Highly recommend. Pineapple topping had a bit of a kick. The bourbon teriyaki sauce was excellent. Lobster ravioli and chicken piccata were enjoyed as well at the table. Service was good.
Wow delicious!! Got the roast beef dip and was to die for. The fry’s were amazing as well. The service was amazing! Very professional but very homie loved the Atmosphere. Will be coming back here before I leave the area.
Absolutely loved the food! From the special to the kids meal. Server was wonderful. I have many allergies and she made sure I had no issues, even made my salad herself. Either manager or owner came to ask how we liked our food. Very clean and attentive. Would definitely recommend!
We are always nervous about seafood away from the coast. But this place surprised us, both in quality of food and portion size. There was a large amount of lobster in the lobster roll, not like some places that try to short you. Everything we had was good, including the oysters, which are sometimes tough to do well. Staff was a little indifferent and the weirdest part of the meal was receiving our appetizer and entrees within two minutes of each other. Might need to work on the pacing.
Really good seafood centric restaurant in the foothills of GA.Good food, good service, priced right!
Family and I drove an hour to try this place after seeing it rated highly on TripAdvisor. We enjoy venturing out to different areas to try locally owned restaurants and shops. This was a perfect match! Unfortunately, this restaurant is either ill-equipped or ill-managed, as it was unable to seat myself, my wife, and my infant in any seats in the restaurant, including numerous open tables or booths with the capability to pull up a high chair to place our child’s infant carrier on. The hostess gave her best shot to accommodate a pretty normal group of patrons (us, a family of three that includes a baby) but was quickly shut down by a manager (?) and essentially pushed us right out the door of a restaurant that was 1/3 full. The menu looks great but we’ll never know if the food is any good.
Shrimp was good. Crab cake was not very good, kind of mushy. Service was very good. I would try o e of the fresh catch choices if we go back
