Well had low expectations and that's a good thing. Meat was dry, sides not soo good. Price just ok which was good. Really loved the red dot sweet tea. No need to come back. But lady that we paid was very nice.
I ordered CHOPPED brisket. I guess the chef got tired if chopping so I got half and half. The brisket was mostly tasteless and dry. The sauce was not what I expected. I was not a big fan of the baked beans but they weren't terrible. The Brunswick stew was a breathtaker. First bite took my breath away because all I could taste was vinegar. Customer service is non-existent. You place your order, pick out your seating, get your drink and have a seat until they bring your food. Not a long wait at all. If you need, or even want, a to go box, you will need to get up and get it yourself. $40 for two and considering that the only thing they do is take your money and bring your food, one would expect a little bit of service.Sorry Fire it up, I won't be returning. There are much better BBQ restaurants in town.
Had lunch there last weekend on Sunday with family and it was delicious. The Brunswick stew is very good and the pork was tender. Will definitely be back. Had ribs from there a couple of weeks ago and they were really good. My family enjoyed everything they had. Keep firing it up!
I ordered the barbecue pulled pork nachos loaded. Let me tell you the young lady behind the counter 100% competent at her job. I got the best nachos of my life here ! This is a new spot added to my journeys! Thanks for the great food and professional staff!
I only gave this two as we have been here a number of times over the last few years and it was fantastic with great service and ample amounts of food. However, this past Friday right around noon, it was beyond bad. The brisket sandwich was dried out beyond chewable and had hardly any meat at all. The service was the worst. Had to repeat the order (Two sandwiches, one brisket and one slice chicken) to many times to count and still got chopped chicken. Not to even mention, the prices have gone way up for less food, and then was asked if I wanted to pay $5.00 more for more meat. Will probably never go back. To many good BBQ places in the area to waste out time here. No wonder it was not crowded on a Friday at lunch time!
Meats- (Pork & Turkey) Average at best, served at room temperature. BBQ beans- soupy and cool. Slaw- ......meh Collard greens- Ok, but again, served cool. Cornbread- Dry and hard Sweet Tea- One thing they CAN do right.
It was a great place when it started, but not any more. I don’t know how many new owners this place has had, but going down hill and unfortunately they lost me as a regular customer. The quality and quantity are poor while prices have gone horribly high. Customer service needs some training. Those girls behind counter have some type of attitude you can see it on their faces without them having to say a word. I liked the previous setting where you could see what was actually placed in your plate and how much. Now you’d be lucky if you get enough food for the price and you have to find out at home if ordering to go. Also, I’ve been told on a few occasions before that what I want to order “we can’t do that,” even though I know it can be done, I just have to pay a little extra. So I have had to correct them. Not worth going back. Picture is sausage and brisket plate.
We really wanted to like this barbecue place because we love Georgia barbecue but this was not the place for us. The pulled pork was a little dry the brisket was smoked well but much flavor. The barbecue sauce just didn't have that sweet southern kick. The sides were very disappointing we tried the fries coleslaw baked beans and mac and cheese. The employees are not very friendly at all could use some training on providing good customer service. Place could definitely use a good cleaning. Yes, barbecue joints are like that but they should still be clean for sanitary reasons. I thought since the prices were a little higher that it would be some good barbecue and worth it but for us it was not. Should have realized this when it was off the expressway and when you don't have that barbecue smoke smell before you even walk in the door. Just wanted to give an honest review because we're true lovers of real southern barbecue.
This is probably one of the most disappointing restaurants I have ever been to. Aside from the fact that the “staff” was playing while we watched our food sit on the rack, when we got the food it was close to inedible. The half rib plate my fiancé ordered was chewy and very poor quality. He was able to eat maybe a quarter of 2 ribs before giving up completely. My chicken strip platter was just as bad. The chicken tasted like it was cooked in bad grease, and the chicken was chewy as well. I got sick shortly after eating them. I never leave reviews on restaurants but this was ridiculous and if I had a complaint I wouldn’t even know who to tell because the front staff was all carelessly playing.
The young blond headed girl took my order and i ordered bbq nachos with fries as stated on the specialty menu. After I received my order the fries was not included. I ask for my fries and the young blond headed girl said it didn’t come with fries. She has a serious attitude, very rude. She charged me $11.99 for the lunch menu, which should have been $9.99. Didn’t even ask for my receipt. I left the restaurant and had planned on dining in. Left the bbq sauce on the table. She has a serious bad attitude. My last time eating here and word of mouth gets around fast. Laughing out loud
