Words have yet to be invented to be able to describe how great the food and people at this family owned restaurant are. I was lucky enough to meet Judd and Kate at one of their old locations and thanks to my job that involves traveling I try to come every time I’m in town. There are so many food items out there that I’m not a fan of, but there has yet to be something I won’t eat from South Of Heaven. From the regular BBQ menu that they offer to the weekly menu that they create, nothing is bad. WEEKLY MENU PEOPLE!!!! DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!?!? WEEKLY!!!! I bet you don’t pay all of your bills on time, meanwhile Judd and Kate have to come up with a new menu, order the supplies, prep the supplies, and then cook a whole different menu… WEEKLY.And I highly recommend you follow them on Facebook or Instagram. Being a small family restaurant and having the unknown volume of people come through their doors, food goes quick. Doing this simple step could save you a trip just to find out they ran out of food that day or maybe they just wanted to take a much deserved vacation. Plus, that weekly menu I talked about, you get sneak peeks at it.P.S. Emotional support taco weeks = why I wake up.

Amazing brisket? My husband had the Lizzo and he regretted not ordering two. Then we had the cherry cobbler and we definitely regret only getting one! Everything including the service was excellent ?

excellent food, courteous staff and great portions! clean restaurant with wonderful seating options.

Shoutout to the owners: GO BIRDS!!! Hope you remember me. Ribs & Brisket were PHENOMENAL!!! SO tender & juicy. Item of the week: Pork Belly Tacos?? 2 tacos with a very generous piece of pork belly in each. I ate the first one in 2 bites....so delicious!! Actually slowed down to savor the 2nd taco. (Forgot to take photos......it was THAT good!!!) Local Folks, South of Heaven = #1. That spot on St. Simon's (not worth mentioning here) is a distant 2nd.

Hubs and I both had the pork sammie- the pork is soooo moist and tender, you really don't need sauce, but try their sauce anyway because it is different and very good!!!!We had the beans and pimento grits, both of which are the BEST we've ever had - and hubs hates pimento cheese, but left zero grit in his bowl!!! ?The "bun" is a sweet croissant that somehow just Works! It's apparently dicey to find them open (this was our second try and we lucked out ?), but keep trying because the food and price are definitely worth it!!! ?

AMAZING. Rodney Scotts set the bar pretty high but South of Heaven was next level. Best bbq we have had - the street corn is life changing. Sweet outdoor seating area and very cool vibe inside. Incredible staff! You need to come here!

Drove down South from Canada to get the real southern BBQ experience... fortunately Georgia has plenty of fantastic places to eat. Double fortunately for me, South of Heaven has hands down the best Brisket you can find anywhere on the planet. The pitmaster gave me the low down on the smokers and it's pretty clear that hours and hours of attention, passion, and experience go into every bite.Sides were awesome, mac and cheese is a simple version that delivers in a way that is sometimes overdone at other BBQ joints. The BBQ sauce is a perfectly crafted combination of sweet and umami. This spot is a must stop!

The absolute best BBQ and culinary genius ideas in the South!

This place is always on point. Try the brisket tacos. You will not be disappointed.

Amazing BBQ! Friendly staff, clean atmosphere! We had brisket with beans and A brisket sandwich with Mac n cheese. The sandwich was amazing. The bread had such amazing flavor and was soft with toasted sides. My husband loves the BBQ sauce as well. This place will not disappoint!
