What a great experience today for lunch. Chelsea was very helpful and made some great suggestions. Started with the crab balls which were so fresh you could almost hear the water. Lunch was the combo platter with shrimp, scallops, mahi-mahi, oysters and onion rings. WOW!!!!! We were a little skeptical based on some of the reviews but are we ever glad we tried it for ourself. Definitely a place to stop again the next time we are in the area.

Average to good fried seafood. Good location. Stroll on the dock that is located on a tidal area of the mighty Altamaha River. If you time it right you can watch the tide come in or out.Not too keen on using all the disposable cutlery, plates, bowls, etc.Been many times and plan to continue.

These guys have awesome food. friendly staff and an awesome atmosphere.

Good service with no wait. First ever experience of dressing my own slaw. We were served a bowl of shredded cabbage and a portion of a thousand island type dressing. The onion rings were outstanding! I have never had battered catfish. It was not a favorite. We won’t be back.

After ordering a drink, was told they cannot make a cosmopolitan.. they have a BAR..and find it hard to believe that they don't have vodka, lime juice, and cranberry juice. Staff was friendly, but we should have been made aware upon arrival that our food may take an HOUR to get to the table. ( 2 adult meals, and 3 kids meals) With 3 very hungry children, it was an awful experience. I may return one day with out the kids, but with my own cranberry and lime.

Worth the 10-min drive off the highway! Sat on the deck on the river - beautiful relaxing view after a long drive. Seafood was fresh and well-cooked (had the salad with blackened mahi-mahi, wife had the fish basket/grilled). Would have given a 5-star if they were serving on that gorgeous deck they have - but had to order "take-out" and sit on the deck!

Good food with a view of the water and marina. The French dip was tasty and hot, just how I like it deep.

The food was delicious. The service outstanding. Beautiful view.

Stayed on St. Simons Island for Jan/Feb 2022,and ate at Mudcat Charlies on two separate occasions for Lunch.Nothing special here, but the waitress's were very friendly. The food and Menu is in need of a upgrade.---Great food brings the Masses.

We live locally and have frequented Mudcat’s for decades with mostly great results. However, the last two meals we ordered were awful. They have changed the breading on the seafood and onion rings. One of the best features of fried seafood is a very light breading so that the flavor of the seafood is predominant. That being used now is thick and smothers the food. In addition, the seafood is over-cooked. Today’s onion rings, which used to be a favorite, were soggy. We really like good seafood and really hate to drive to SSI to get it. I would like to see a return to the lighter breading and greater attention to how the food is cooked. We are reluctant to return with conditions as they are. The service has never been a problem. We get to know the wait people and enjoy their friendliness and good work ethic. I do agree that the restaurant needs a deep-cleaning. The restrooms reeked with the odor of urine today. Not very appetizing. Not sure when we will return. Kathy Strickland, Brunswick
