The Glynn Academy Girl's Golf Team won the 6A State Championship on Tuesday, May 17, at the Jekyll Island Golf Club. They chose to celebrate together at Marshside afterwards. Once the waitress/owner found out they were State Champs, they put all of their meals on the house. What a super generous thing for them to do to show their support for their local High School! Thank you Marshside & Go Terrors!
Great service great food i highly recommended them
The view is beautiful…the shrimp was fresh and very delicious. Servers were fast and friendly. I come here every time I am down this way.
We love this place! The peel-and-eat shrimp with sweet potato fries are my favorite! We've been coming back for years!
We visited the Marshside Grill primarily because it was dog-friendly. They were very welcoming of our dog as seating was provided outside, which gave us a nice view of the marsh/glen. The waitress quickly brought our drinks as well as some water for our dog. The menu was offered traditional seafood as well as daily specials, which we chose. The food was delicious and had clearly been freshly prepared. Staff were efficient and friendly. It was a very pleasant and memorable experience.
Brought a group of people there from my church. I am still receiving messages and e-mails about how great the food was and what a neat place to eat. Our group takes trips every month, and I have never received so many positive comments about my restaurant pick as Marshside Grill. Best food ever!!!
Worst service in a while. 5:30 on a weekday Two young girl hostess. Could not seat me at a table. Even though two different ladies had a table to themselves and three tables or booths open. Even offered to seat outside. They stated it was closed. Could not help to notice people eating and drinking out there. Say at the bar with slow service. If you not a local. I would not come here.
Our 4th year visiting and have always had a great meal. Friendly service and fresh ingredients. The view of the salt marshes is relaxing while you eat. A spot not to miss. Do not miss the delicious Brunswick stew ! Chock full of ingredients, a hearty meal any time if year.
Ended up here for lunch after our other lunch plans changed unexpectedly. Conveniently located. We arrived at 11:30 and the place was packed (always a good sign). We were given a buzzer and opted to stand outside to wait for our table versus hover by the hostess stand. Noticed later that I think they forgot to buzz us and another family as everyone who showed up after us was already seated when we were finally called in. Oh well, maybe they let locals jump the line and make the tourists wait? ;) Kind of neat to see so many people of different ages and professions coming together to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Service was friendly and quite fast considering how busy it was. Food was decent. The best thing ordered at our table was the hen fingers (hand battered chicken tenders). Blackened shrimp were also quite good. Not sure that we would return again, but it isn’t a bad stop if you are heading on/off St. Simons Island and want a local restaurant.
The view was the best part of the entire experience. They have no drink menu, waitress assured us they had a full bar, but then couldn't even make a Moscow Mule. Both of us ordered steak, crab legs & baked potatoes. Meals were delivered missing the potatoes, the food runner told us he'd be right back with the potatoes (never came back) Waitress came back once during our meal right after it was delivered to see how everything was, at that point we hadn't even had the opportunity to try anything. She didn't return again until we were completely done eating. I told her we never received our side, she seemed irritated, then came back from the kitchen to tell us our potatoes were literally just done. Told her I just wanted them taken off the check at that point, to which she made an excuse saying the food runner said they were going to bring them earlier that is why she didn't check back, ummm not my problem, you should've checked on your table. The food was mediocre at best, steaks were way overcooked. The crab legs did not taste fresh, they were extremely bland & had almost a mushy texture. My son ordered onion rings that were seriously the most bland onion rings I've ever tasted. Sadly, they were cooked beautifully, just had ZERO flavor! This place needs a major face-lift the decor is dark & dingy paneling. I really wanted to love this place, but there was just nothing to love about the entire experience. Save your money get a sandwich & go to the park next door for the same view!
