Willie Jewell’s hands down has the best wings in town. I used them to cater a party and people couldn’t stop talking about the food all weekend!! They were awesome and flexible to work with! Great customer service! They’ll deliver and help set up too!Would absolutely use them for catering again!
Just returned from lunch at WIllie Jewell’s. My husband and I were in line with one lady in front of us. She waved 2 families that came in behind us to the front of the line. She never made eye contact or asked us if we minded. A gal in the party that pushed in ahead of us said, “Sorry, hon.”The lady at the register could have prevented this awkward situation She didn’t. My lunch was ruined. I never even tasted my food so don’t even know if it was good or not. Didn’t know this kind of behavior still existed or was condonedWe will NOT be back.
I've been wanting to try this place for the longest. I convinced my husband to go. Biggest mistake ever. The container that my bake beans were in was filthy with bean juice all around it. The chicken looked like it had been under a heating lamp all day but it was pink inside. That made no sense to me. I should have looked at it before we left but silly me I waited until I got home and I live in grovetown. This was a BIG let down.....
We each got the three meat platters. Good sized portions. Ribs were served dry rubbed, chicken & pulled pork were moist, brisket was tender, however the turkey lacked any smoked flavor. The collard greens & corn nuggets were delicious. I enjoyed the Brunswick stew & my husband liked the hash. The staff was helpful & we liked the warm sauces.
Just had lunch here. This place is bomb! The staff was very friendly, manager checked in on us and the whole experience was great. The food was sticking to my ribs within the first few bites it and was so comforting to me as someone who’s born and raised in the south but has been living on the east coast for the past few years. I know my bbq ? The sauces were amazing and overshadowed any basic sauce you’d find at a store or bbq chain. Beer was extra cold and the brisket was perfectly tender. My family and I enjoyed this place so much. First timers too!
Delicious bbq joint. Clean and well kept. Great service. I sincerely enjoyed the grape juice lemonade, interesting twist on a classic. We had the Slawpy pig and brisket sandwich. Sandwiches were both great. The Mac n cheese tasted home made. The baked beans were delicious as well.
Very impressed with the customer service. But let's talk about the hefty serving of hash and rice! It's meaty! It's rich! It's not mysterious! The brisket was also good and there are 4 bbq sauces to choose from ranging from sweet to spicy. Would definitely refer to family and friends.
I got the three meat combo with an additional side. The service was good upon entering. We ordered and the person behind the register was pretty helpful and patient. I got the ribs, pulled pork, and the brisket. I also got baked beans, Cole slaw, and stew for the sides. The brisket didn't have the bark on it like I've come to know from other restaurants. The ribs were kind of small and dried out just a little. The pulled pork was good and I don't have any complaints there. The Cole slaw was kind of dry and didn't have enough of the sweet cream flavor that I am used to. The baked beans probably should have been cooked a little more. I had to drain the meat in the barbeque sauce for flavor. It was not bad as a restaurant. Some of the meat just needed a little bit more seasoning. The sides need a little work. It wasn't bad bad, but just need a little work.
If you are craving great barbecue, this is the place to go. No other reason to try anything else. The flavor is amazing, sauces are fantastic, and the meat is cooked to perfection. The most friendly and accommodating staff, truly the best.
Love this establishment. Always super friendly staff and amazing food! They never disappoint.
